Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe breakfast was a bit poor, only packaged sweet products (cake, biscuits, jam, nutella, small yogurt, small juice), at least butter or eggs would have been nice.
Beautiful apartment, well equipped, amazing view from the bedroom.

Czech RepublicSome bird didn't like us staying there, it was hitting window even doring the night! Maybe ghost?!?! :-D
I would recommend owner to take better pictures of the view as its very beautiful. Even two people can't fit the little balcony there is option to spend evening on terrace of next house. Basic Italian breakfast is ready for you in the room. Owner Sante seems like funny charming chap.

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing.
Everything. The apartment was just lovely, clean, well equipped. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The owner helped me so much as I had brought the wrong phone charger with me, and he drove 45mins to bring me a new one, it was so appreciated, and very kind, because I don't know how my holiday would have continued without it, as there are no electrical shops near. Thankyou again.

IsraelThe place is old, the bed could be more comfortable and what is the issue with the towel?? more like a tablecloth. for us it was totally OK but I can see other friends of mine become annoyed about it.
Beautiful village and from the apartment you will get the best view of the valley and the high mountains around.

GermanyWe really enjoyed the apartment. In the middle of a heat wave it stayed nice and cool. Santo Stefano di Sessiano is a gem. Owner friendly and helpful, provided plenty of information about the village and surrounding area. Not a problem for us, but note that not all the places that belong to Residence Belvedere have a view. We stayed in a small house with few windows which really helped to keep the heat out.

ItalyA quiet apartment with an amazing view on the valley. Great spot for hiking and driving up to Campo Imperatore or down to L’Aquila. The apartment has all you need, breakfast ingredients are provided for you to prepare your breakfast according to your schedule, which worked out perfectly for us! Would definitely go back.

ItalyBeds require an update. They are beautiful, mattresses are good, but they are not perfectly flat. I would add something for breakfast for those who don't drink coffee - like, a proper water boiler and some tea.
Distributed B&B across the small town of Santo Stefano di Sessanio. Rooms are not rooms, but small apartments (well, some of them are not so small!), equipped with anything you might need. Owners are nice and gentle. In the flat's kitchen, guests can find a lot of stuff to have a good breakfast - biscuits, jam, yogurt and so on. The structure has a free parking a few meters away from all or most flats; all flats are well located to visit the town and to take mountain trails in the area (Rocca Calascio can be reached in 1h20m through a splendidly panoramic route). The Gran Sasso area (Campo Imperatore) is 35-40 minutes away.

AustraliaElectrical and sewage problems. Apartment 4 blew fuse on second night. Next morning moved to apartment 1. This apartment's bathroom also had no natural ventilation and a slight odour but the smell became discusting. Mentioned this to the owner. He said sewage odour was a municipal problem, nothing he could do about it and no compensation offered.
Old world charm and amazing views.

New ZealandBreakfast was very poor, we have to buy extra food and milk for it because the one provided wasn't nearly enough not even for 1 night ( we stayed 2 ). Crusks were expired a month earlier and the promised freshly baked cake never happened. Location had no view as a huge scaffolding was built in front of our place.

Australiait’s a very long journey from Australia and very sad indeed when a huge renovation is taking place breaking the awesome peace and blocking most of the view. I booked months ago and the owners have about 8 apartments but saw fit to put me in this one. mind you the one next door would have been worse and people they put in that one were devastated and disappeared.
this town of Santo Stefano Sessano is mind blowing. a compact town high in the mountains with amazing views and experiences. unfortunately I am 78 and travelling alone so did no climbing. lovely cool air after all the heat
