“The Kii No Matsushima ryokan is a unique Japanese experience. The place is perfect for discovering the coast (the beach is 200 meters away) but especially if you want to do one of the many sections of Kumano path.
The family who runs this ryokan were extremely attentive to every detail of our stay.
The rooms are spacious and pleasant. The common areas are very clean, the bathrooms have a small onsen which is very pleasant at the end of the day!
The highlight of the stay is the meals and breakfasts. The chef is a master of Japanese cuisine! Each dish transported us during the three nights we spent here, a treat! Local specialties are based on seafood and fish. We tasted many new flavors, always balanced and refined.
We highly recommend this peaceful place, and hope to return.”
