Strong of cigarettes smell everywhere, even I stay on non-smoking room I still smell it. The hotel quite far from the main JR station.

I love the good hospitality of their staff. The room was neat even there is quite old. The great thing is, I can see the view of Kumamoto Castle when I lie down on the bed.

The disgusting stench of cigarettes throughout the hotel. I could even smell it from outside. Maybe put the smoking room in the carpark away from everyone where it belongs.

The bed was very uncomfortable. It was all looking quite tired and old. We didn’t get our complimentary drinks coins until we checked out. By that time it was not very useful. It also don’t have coffee in the room. You need to use the lounge which is not accessible until after breakfast which is not very helpful. Should have coffee in the room and not relied on access to the lounge.

Because hotel is old, equipments are also old. Shower toilet is old type and not comfortable. The drainage speed of bathtub water is slow.

This window doesn’t accept Japanese input methods of iPhone. So I write in English. When you open window in room, all view of Kumamoto castle comes directly to your eyes, there’s no obstacles between castle and hotel. The view is beautiful in morning and in the evening, too. In addition, the hotel is located at east side of the castle. You can see east side face of Kumamoto castle.

Poor WiFi internet connection, which is way too slow and drops connection constantly. Perhaps hotel should invest in better and more capable routers at least on some floors to better support business travelers, that depend on good internet connection.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast buffet on hotel top floor with beautiful view of Kumamoto Castle. Great location, close to Kamotori and Shimotori.

The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. For some reason our bathroom smelt like cigarettes and that leaked into our room. It wasn’t pleasant.

Very comfortable hotel with beautiful restaurant on the top floor with excellent view of the Kumamoto Castle. Breakfast buffet is rich and service very polite. The value for money is very good.

Although we had a pleasant stay be aware that the rooms are small. It was a tight squeeze for my friend and me to pass each other moving around the room and the two beds in the room are basically touching with little space around them. There is one large window with a lovely view however it only opens a small amount given that the desk and TV are in front of it as well and there is no screen in it so I would be careful if you have children. However, opening the window was needed given that the room temp is controlled by the hotel and you can only really change the airflow level. However, given the affordable price of the hotel it is not so bad, just make sure that you are close with whoever you stay with, as you will be in close quarters.

The front desk staff was very polite and made check-in a breeze. They even gave us a castle view room with no extra charge which was lovely. The view of the castle from the room was amazing, especially at sunset. For the price that we paid our stay was pleasant. The room included two beds, a desk with a chair, a mini-fridge, a TV, and a tea kettle in the main room. It is also only a short walk to the shopping and restaurant district nearby.
