I booked a double bed room for two and was surprised to be billed for the second person at check-in. They blame this on Booking.com

Location to coast was farther than we thought and we struggled to find interest on the day we had as local places were shut . Didnt find the tourist information until too late . Hotel may have supplied info on places to visit etc in foyer or directed us to local tourist information.

Breakfast was varied and nicely spaced out, very enjoyable and staff very helpful. Close to train station was handy and hotel was very nice. Bedroom was very spacious and comfortable.

Staff didn’t speak much English, room was serviced once over a 9 night stay, stains on carpet in room, cafe had very limited food options and beds were very hard and uncomfortable.

The location next to the station was perfect and close to shops and restaurants which we appreciated as it was a quick stopover on the way to another location. We did not know that Shizuoka was such an interesting place and we look forward to returning to this hotel where we spent a really pleasant one night. The room was spotless and the staff kind. The tobacco/cigarette smell left over from yesteryears. It’s almost impossible to remove this unless the walls and carpets are overhauled. Unfortunately I have a very keen sense of smell

Everything except the remnant tobacco smell from yesteryears and which I’m sensitive to. It’s an old world 4 stars hotel which is very well maintained. The location is unbeatable. Next to train station, the airport bus is in front of the entrance. I get a view of Mt Fuji from my room. Staff service is excellent and on par with a 4 star hotel.

Nothing really. But if I'm forced to answer: the area between the hotel and the station smells a bit burnt diesel because of traffic (but I like that there are many bus options). One of the lights of the room looked like it was pushed far too deep inside the ceiling as it should have.

The hotel was very clean,. The staff spoke to me in Japanese when I spoke in Japanese and used English words only when I was struggling with some vocabulary.

Hotel is right next to the train station and there is a Toyota Rental agency in the same building Rooms are spacious and very clean We were able to check in 2 hours before the official check in time without any problem. When we arrived at the hotel they checked us in immediately Staff is very helpful and friendly For parking, there is a garage next to the hotel. There is an entrance to the garage especially for hotel guests. I did not know this and used the wrong entrance. This was not a problem, they still gave me the special rate for guests
