We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

AustraliaDinner buffet was a little confusing, they serve a main meal and give you access to the buffet, but with the language barrier we didn’t quite understand why they were asking us about a main meal, given buffets are generally just self serve. Was good value for money though and good food.

This is a wonderful property with exceptional staff. Wonderful amenities with sell of tickets to the castle and to Kamikochi, with free rides to the train station, although it is a very short walk. Our only complaint was that they do not have central air and we were very uncomfortable 🥵They gave us fans and with the window cracked at night, it became a little more bearable. I’m sure in the middle of winter the rooms are very comfortable as they do have heating. Not sure if they have central air that at some point in the year they switch to cooling, but this is 3rd week of April and during the day can get quite warm in Matsumoto.

The small executive room came with the unexpected benefit of access to the executive lounge for complimentary drinks and nibbles at cocktail hour. Our rooms (perhaps all rooms) also included an optional entirely free excursion to a very luxurious onsen hotel in the hills just outside town. Strongly recommended.

AustraliaWe were in a smoking room and it stank. Normally we don't mind too much, but this room absolutely reeked of smoke. As you can't open the windows far we had to prop open the door to get some cross ventilation. Also, the hotel does not have air conditioning, only heating. It was quite warm, so we needed to leave the window open. However, the room was almost hermetically sealed. Differences in air pressure (between inside and outside) resulted in the air whistling loudly through cracks around the door frame for most of the night. Parking was available, but cost Y1,100/night, which we did not realise before arriving.
Location was quite good - a bit of a walk to the railway station, castle and restaurant area. Comfortably furnished room and excellent laundry facilities. Helpful staff with pretty good English.

Stayed in a twin room the first night. Was refurbished, modern and large. Stayed in an executive room on the 2nd night and it wasn't as good as the twin, but decent. Hotel is quiet and away from the main road. Friendly staff. Breakfast more geared toward Japanese clientele. Some self service laundry facilities available. Would stay here again.

DenmarkThe breakfast was a bit underwhelming. The hotel have placed a smoking area right next to the elevators.
We only spent two nights in Buena Vista hotel, but we can recommend the hotel to others. It is a clean central place to stay when you enjoy the fabulous city of Matsumoto. The hotel reception can help you buy tickets for the castle, and you shouldn’t cheat yourself from experiencing that gorgeous site when you are there. The employees are exceptional service minded and positive towards you.
