Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIt is not ski in, ski out. However it is close to Happo (not the green runs - it’s a hike to the green runs) and you can use the shuttle service to get to the other mountains or the hotel will call a cab. It is a little bit out of the centre of Happo and where the restaurants are. It about a 10minute walk.
Staff were lovely and the room was massive. The onsen was nice and clean and the gear drying room was great.

AustraliaOnly minor, but breakfast only beginning at 7.30am was a bit late for us with a kid and those wanting to hit the slopes early. The location just outside town might not suit everyone, but we loved it.
Great hotel just outside the main Happo area- walking distance to majority of shops and restaurants (even with a toddler) although the shuttle service was handy at times. Easy walk with gear to the Nakiyama chair lift and kids park. Very helpful and friendly owners who go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay. Excellent buffet breakfast. On site Onsen was very nice and relaxing.

United KingdomThe hotel needs updating which does not provide the best first impression. The location is out of Happo so be prepared to walk. The shuttle bus helps hugely but compared to other hotels, it is quite isolated.
The staff. The owners could not have done more to ensure that our stay was good. Shuttle bus, ski school and ski equipment support were particularly helpful. Outstanding is how I would describe their service. Cleanliness. The decor is old but the hotel and the linen is spotless.

Hong KongThe location is not particularly convenient especially we did not ski at Happo where it suits more advanced skiers. Restaurants are not close without a car.
Keto San and his wife were exceptionally helpful. Firstly, our room had been upgraded knowing that we had 2 adults and 3 kids. Secondly, the couple assisted us to make reservations for dinner, drove us to the town and picked us up after dinner. Thirdly, they allowed us to use the microwave to heat up our food bought from Lawson and also used the onsen for a shower after we checked out. Overall, the hotel was clean and nicely run, service was exceptionally good, Keto San and his wife were super helpful and flexible. Kids enjoyed the stay so much!

SingaporeThe room itself - lacking mirror for dressing up, hooks for hanging stuff, shelves for things. There was a huge cupboard that didn’t serve much purpose as it was dark and very very wide.
The Hosts - Keita and Monica were great! Friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a good spread too. We had dinner there 4 out of 6 evenings and it was good - value for money. I like the onsen facilities too.

ItalySmall onsen, but it was still nice!
It was obvious that property was well taken care of and that cleanliness is the main priority. Room was a great size with typical Japanese bathroom. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was tasty, and staff was extremely kind, and helpful. Monica's knowledge of English was much appreciated as we encountered language barrier earlier during this travel in different hotels. What I liked the most is that it seems like hotel was ran by family and that fact itself made my stay more enjoyable. Staff also helped us with shipping our luggage and they transported us to bus station at 6am! My husband and I look forward to coming back!
