Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at. Location was not far from bus station, and staff offered to drop me at location. The facilities were great with free bike rentals, free washer and dryer. Free breakfast was very tasty and had a great rooftop. Would recommend this stay to anyone in Okinawa who wants to visit more north of the island.

JapanThe only thing about this place is that if you don’t have a car to move around like us, it is very difficult to move just the bus stop was 30 minutes away. But this place offers extremely affordable vehicles which I would highly recommend but none of us had international license if we did we would’ve done that instead because is so convenient and cheap.
This guesthouse is exactly what I always envisioned a guesthouse being. I made so many friends and heard so many fascinating stories. The common area was the best part of the whole experience, I had interesting conversations with people from so many countries including Japan. I felt like I was in a house living with friends. And although I went with friends it is a great option if you’re a solo traveler. This place is so welcoming that I lot of the people there told me they went there with the plan of staying one or two nights but have stayed months. And honestly if it wasn’t because I had already booked another place and another part of the island in advance I would’ve stayed. The female room was very comfortable and with a lot of space and the shower room is in my opinion very big. The place was always kept smelling nice and clean. The owner made us a delicious breakfast every day, now I understand why so many comments I read about this place mentioned the breakfast. Not only was it delicious but aesthetically pleasing. If you love music this is the place for you even if you don’t play any instruments it is very likely you would hear people singing and playing some sort of instrument. The owner deserves a whole page dedicated to him. Honestly he was from the beginning very friendly and helpful, it is obvious that he enjoys being there. He lends us bikes, answered any questions and gave us suggestions. He offered us swimming gear when we were going to the beach, umbrellas when he knew it would rain and free products. He even took us to the bus stop when we were leaving. Truly a wonderful person. This place is so special that is priceless but the fact that is so affordable makes it 10X more incredible. 100% recommend!

JapanA lovely hostel with gorgeous breakfast and owner. And it's very friendly to introvert people like me -- you can either join the talk or quietly sitting aside reading book with a cup of Getto tea on the hand. It is pretty clean everywhere, despite that the dormitory itself is located in basement-- but it does not feel wet, which is quite amazing. Washing machine and dryer are free to use so that you could consider bring less clothes if you choose here as accommodation. Also there are free bikes to use -- highly recommend riding along the Route 58. Riding for about 30 or 40 minutes you can approach the beach, but the journey itself won't make you feel long as the scene on the road is so beautiful.

the staff is very friendly and the place is lovely. There are many musical instrument on the ground level, and some people gather in the house to play the instruments. Free breakfast (i had pancake) was freshly made by the friendly staff. The sleeping area is at the basement, there is shower room for lady, need to shower in a bathtub. A big locker is also provided. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash is provided. Do bring you own tower and toothbrush. The place is close to the pottery shop and the castle. IsraelI had an incredible week at this hostel in Okinawa. It's safe to say this was the best hostel experience I've ever had. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, with music in the living room and fun movie nights. One of the standout features was the option to rent a scooter at a very affordable price, which made exploring the island a breeze. Plus, having a nearby gym with a $2 entry fee was a fantastic bonus. The hostel's location was perfect, making it easy to access all the attractions on the island. The host was a true gem – not only did they create a warm and homely atmosphere, but they also served up some delicious breakfast, especially those mouthwatering pancakes. Staying here felt like being among friends, and I made some amazing connections during my stay. In my travels around Japan, this hostel, without a doubt, had the best host. The value for the price was outstanding, and I'm truly grateful for such a memorable experience. If you're heading to Okinawa, I can't recommend this place enough. It's a home away from home and an unforgettable journey.
