I had an issue with additional cost on breakfast which was not made know to me before or after my booking. I booked the hotel for four pax (family with two kids) and it showed breakfast was included. However, no one told me that it was only included for 3 guests and I need to pay for the fourth person. So ended up I only received the bill after I started eating the breakfast, and it was 3955 Yen for a simple set breakfast, totally not worth it! I think both the hotel and booking.com have the obligation to inform customers of any hidden cost and additional charges, to be fair to us. In additon, the food at the restaurant in the hotel (The Grill) was not good either, very limited options and not value for money. Location was also far from anywhere so we have to eat at the hotel. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to any of my friend.

The location was STUNNING- beautiful views, close to the pampas grass fields, really really lovely. The staff were also very nice and friendly. The complementary bus to and from Odawara was great.

Breakfast costs almost 4,000 JPY per person, which is unreasonable for what you get. We had booked for two adults and two children, which somehow meant only three beds, all of which were "twin" (single) beds, which were too narrow to share comfortably. We were on the ground floor (although it is labelled "3rd floor"), and right outside our window was a putting green, so it did not feel private at all. Overall the room was fairly small for a family of 4.

We loved everything about the hotel - the staff were outstanding, the location was excellent, the room spacious and comfortable, and the onsen was immaculately clean and relaxing. The food in the restaurant was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. Simply exquisite.

The shuttle only works twice a day at early times instead of more regularly to accommodate different times.

Amazing views and facilities! The staff were friendly and very accomodating. We had missed the free shuttle transfer from Odawara and had to take the local bus but they offered to pick us up from the bus station as it was a hilly 10 minute walk with heavy suitcases

I liked the onsen the most but there is only women and men separately, you can’t book private time for the family, so the family will be split. Thare is nice hike close by with a great view of Mount Fuji.

Expensive. It is hard for us to justify paying more than $150 USD per night to sleep anywhere, and this is a lot more. That is more of an issue with our own budget, not the quality.

It's a 10 minute walk to the bus, and hilly, so people with mobility issues should be aware. However, they have an on demand shuttle to the bus stop, so you can take advantage of that! We enjoyed the walk and honestly loved everything about our stay here.

The views are extraordinary. The breakfast were delicious. The room was cozy with high quality bedding and a wonderful view. The onsen was lovely. The staff was so attentive, friendly and pleasant! We were very comfortable. The shuttle also makes this location incredibly convenient. Highly recommended.

The picture of the room was different from the room they gave us. The room was not very clean. There were dirty stains on the sofa and the floor was dirty.There were roach inside Onsen and they were full of hair everywhere. The guests inside Onsen were talking loudly and no staff was present to warn them about the corona virus!It was a bad experience from hakone to us!Not worth the price
