Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThere was mould on the vanity, the bottom of the shower curtain was dirty, the quilt cover had not been changed from the previous guests, it looked used. Under the bed was not clean either.
The foyer looked really luxurious. It was right across from the convenience store.

SwedenWifi connection wasn't great when I was there and there were a number of different networks, so it was confusing which one to connect to. Perhaps the hotel could arrange a new WiFi instruction card both in Japanese and English? When I booked, Booking.com said I had breakfast included, however this particular Fine Garden Hotel didn't offer breakfast which I only learned when I arrived, although I don't think I actually paid any more for the breakfast option that I selected on Booking.com.
Hotel is located in a quiet part of Juso which is just over the water from Umeda and I walked this a few times which was really nice. The hotel staff were always very friendly and polite and the cleanliness of the hotel both inside and outside of the room was excellent. The room was a typical Japanese business hotel style room with a nice double bed and the bathroom was a typical Japanese small bath and toilet affair, which was fine for me travelling alone. I'm pretty sure that the room cost about 3000JPY per night which was definitely great value for money. From looking at the information book in the room, I saw that Hotel Fine Garden is actually a chain and has locations across Osaka and Japan, so I will definitely look at staying in one of their hotels again!

GermanyEverything was fine!
It was a very nice stay. Everything was very clean, except the ground a little bit and I made it clean myself (but really just a little bit). The location is good, the bed was very comfortable, the room too. The furniture was very modern, there was a kettle and a fridge inside the room, also there were cups for tee or coffee. Microwave was on the floor, very clean and very cosy. The bathroom was extremely clean. All hygienic articles were included for free, the stuff was great. I could leave my luggage and it was such a great stay in Osaka. If I will come back, I will surely book it one more time. Very inexpensive, but very fine, clean, comfortable, cosy, modern hotel. Thank you very much for everything, Aliya

JapanThe air conditioner was a bit weak so it took a while to cool the room. The hotel is basically a love hotel as well, so not really good for family stays. There's no Wii console in the room, despite what it says in the description.
It's a small, simple, clean room that's good for staying the night. Great cost performance. It's about a 10 minutes walk from the station with lots of small food stores and convenience stores, so somewhat convenient.

JapanThe booking.com checkout time was 12, but the brochure in the room said 13, so we ended up overstaying for 1 hour (our mistake). However, we got charged 3400 yen for late checkout, which I think was way too much. Also, the custom is to give the guests a call 10 min before the checkout time as a reminder, but we didn't get a call at this hotel and ended up paying a lot extra because of this. We were a bit disappointed.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bath with jets and illumination was awesome. The staff will deliver the karaoke pilot to your room if you request it.

JapanThe room was very, very spacious and the jet bath was giant enough to fit 2 people comfortably. Most of all, though they do not have non-smoking rooms, the staff removed pretty much all the tobacco smell while cleaning (at our request for a non-smoking room). There was a massage chair in the room and bath salts, lube and condoms were provided alongside other amenities. There was even a sex toy by the bed, and the soundproofing was good. There is a FamilyMart right next to the hotel and 5 min walk gets you to Juso Station.
