This was our favourite stay for our entire trip in Japan. Everything was fantastic! Do yourself a favour and book this place. It's a real authentic experience, which is why one should travel. Food was also amazing!

We were unable to leave our bags when we arrived earlier than the 4pm check-in time as there was no-one there when we arrived. This meant we had to carry our bags all day while sightseeing.

Our host was lovely. Accommodation was spacious. Our futons and pillows were the most comfortable we have had on our trip! Great to be able to do washing/access dryer (small extra fee). Our breakfast - we opted for Japanese style - was absolutely wonderful l! So delicious. Thank you.

There are some walking distance to station. Because I had kids I feel this is a chore. But if it is for my own travel the distance is fine.

The host is very friendly and will check with us what the kids like and prepare breakfast to their preference.

There are moments that mark travel. These two days in Nara, at this establishment, are one of them. Mieko is attentive to every detail, giving you tips for sightseeing and sharing Japanese culture and stories. The beds are very comfortable, the accommodation ideally located and I invite you to try Mieko's wonderful breakfasts. It was an immense pleasure and a beautiful encounter that touched us. I highly recommend it.

A bit remote from the sites but easily accessible by bus

The lady is adorable and cooks really well. Do ask her about dinner options, it’s a treat! Big room and comfortable futons.

Very sweet lady she was so welcoming and im sad we only stayed one night. We took a taxi because we were tired but it is close to the train station. Her cooking was incredible for breakfast I really appreciated a good meal before a big day of traveling. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. Definitely recommend

Gorgeous traditional guesthouse. Lots of space. Walking distance to all the main sights, though a bus or taxi ride to the JR station. Fantastic breakfast prepared by our host who was welcoming, warm, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this accommodation for your Nara stay.

Location was a little way out from where we were spending time if walking, however it's great if you can catch the bus as the bus stop is very close.

Amazing traditional ryokan, we were very comfortable. The breaky was very good and the host was so wonderful and friendly :)

The host was very nice, she let us arrive early and greated us with tea, coffee and cakes. We had a lot of space to ourselves, including a japanese bath and a nice bedroom with comfy futons. Most of all, the homemade breakfasts (japanese style or occidental) were absolutely delicious and very generous. The location was quiet but close enough to walk to the park, temples and restaurants.

Everything. Mieko was an amazing host and we had a really peaceful, wonderful stay. Can't wait to stay again when we come back to Japan! And Kiri-chan was a lovely schnauzer 😊

It's a bit further walk from central Nara shopping but it's close to bus stations so that'll take you to where you need to go.

Location is a bit of a walk, but good if you like to want a quiet place to sleep away from the tourists.

Very good host and lovely breakfast. Very good hospitality. One of our party rolled her ankle and host went out of her way to make sure her ankle was alright and provided a walking stick as well.

It's a little difficult to find, our taxi driver took us somewhere completely different at first and had to ask for help to find directions. But we got there in the end

If you look at the photos of the food and wonder if they're stock images, believe me they're not! The hosts freshly prepared breakfast was absolutely wonderful! The room is pretty, clean and comfy and the host couldn't be nicer.

The air conditioning in the bedroom (room where we sleep) was not quite working. Though a fan was added, it didn't work the way it should.

Owner is a warm lady, very hospitable and a lovely cook. She manages everything all by herself, hence only one family at any point in time for 'hotel'. She cooked so well for our breakfast that I thought it was for lunch! The quantity was quite a lot. On the day of checking out, we left our ear buds in one of the rooms. She cycled all to the bus stop to catch us! Thank God she was in time or we would have left for the next location. Many thanks for being so kind!

Very friendly and helpful host, served us a wonderful shaved ice and tea on arrival and went out of her way to explain how everything's works and how to get to places. Then we were served a delicious breakfast before checking out. A family atmosphere which we enjoyed very much, would highly recommend.

It was a slightly longer walk from Nara station than expected but jt was no issue

The place is so nice and tidy. It was very comfortable and in walking distance to everything. The host is a very kind older lady. She has an adorable dog and she looks after her guests very well. I have no faults with this place and highly recommend.

It was a little further to walk to and from town than we had anticipated. Given that we had already been walking 8-10 miles a day, and it was in the high 90s temperature wise, we ended up taking a cab back more often than not.

The ryokan was lovely, and the hostess was very sweet and kind. She was very communicative and flexible, and an amazing cook! The food was great, the beds were very comfortable, and her dog was adorable. We'd stay again if we return!
