    Nothing!

The location is slightly on the quiet side. However, once you take your first step into the hotel you will be mesmerised by service and hotel. After spending less than 2 minutes, we decided to forgo our next hotel and stay one more night. Food is amazing. Onsen is amazing. Service is BEYONG amazing. We'll be back next year and every year after that. Thank you!

    Nothing

The attention to detail and to the comfort of he guests from the moment of arrival. The hotel was beautiful and the bedroom was excellent with the most comfortable bed. The food was great and the chef couldn’t have been nicer. I was sorry I hadn’t booked for another day.

Nothing! It was all wonderful. We would love to return someday!

The tranquility of the location and the town. The family history of the Property and Ryoken - such a beautiful story. Our dinner and breakfast host was wonderful, explaining to us each dish and answering our inquisitive questions about the ingredients, the local food and Japanese culture and traditions. The food - amazing. The chef is a magician! The train trip in along the coastline is wonderful. The private onsen - fabulous! We loved it!

Thanks Isaribi offering me a very healing experience. Felt that my exhaustion after a long year was healed and recovered a bit. Lying in the onsen in the room at night, enjoying the nightview and the sound of waves is even better than a therapy session. Thank you very much! And especially thanks Yang from Taiwan, who's very thoughtful and sweet. Pleasure to meet you! Kind regards, Nancy

Our only regret is not having booked a longer stay. Checkout was promptly at noon and they escorted us out a bit before then to catch our shuttle to the next train. The end felt rushed but I know they were just trying to ensure we made it on time :)

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary with a one-night stay at Isaribi Ryokan in Japan, and the experience was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped through the traditional sliding doors, we were enveloped in the warmth of Japanese hospitality and charm. The accommodations were tastefully decorated with a perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional Japanese aesthetics. Our room exuded a serene ambiance that immediately transported us to a world of tranquility. The in-room onsen, with its meticulous attention to detail and soothing ambiance, provided an intimate and rejuvenating experience. The culinary journey at Isaribi Ryokan was a highlight of our stay. The kaiseki dinner was a masterful showcase of Japanese culinary artistry, with each dish thoughtfully prepared using the finest ingredients. The presentation was exquisite, and the flavors were an explosion of delight for our taste buds. The breakfast was equally impressive, providing a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary Japanese breakfast items that left us satiated and ready for the day. One of the standout features of our stay was the private, reservable outdoor onsens. As a couple, having the opportunity to enjoy these scenic hot springs in seclusion was a romantic experience that surpassed our expectations. The surrounding nature added to the overall ambiance, creating a serene and picturesque setting for relaxation. The staff at Isaribi Ryokan deserves special mention for their exceptional service. Attentive, friendly, and always eager to assist, they made us feel like honored guests throughout our stay. Their genuine warmth and willingness to go the extra mile added a personal touch that made our anniversary celebration truly unforgettable. For those seeking an authentic and immersive ryokan experience, Isaribi Ryokan is a gem worth discovering.

For some , if staying more than 1 day or 2, it might be too quiet, but if you're looking to recharge and relax, this is perfect

Everything about this was relaxful and the beds and pillows were like sleeping on clouds. We chose this place also because of the private onsens located inside the rooms and the food was delicious too.

the only thing I could say was that I wish there was a better way to communicate with little to no japanese knowledge between all staff members so I didn't feel lost when I couldn't explain my self properly to some of the staff

Everything, it lived up to and more of what I thought I would get from a traditional japanese experience, while also being accommodating to my lacking ability of japanese language

Not all food is to a western taste, but it's not really a dislike as we enjoyed trying the new food. Just be wary if you can't handle more traditional food.

Really lovely staff, couldn't ask for a better welcome. Lovely facilities and an overall brilliant stay. We highly recommend it. Staff spoke English fluently and surprisingly a lot better than most people in the cities!

A quiet and small place located near ocean, although building outside is old style but room renovated modern. Room has good view, you could see the sunrise too. Food is excellent, firstly was afraid breakfast would be the same as I stayed 2 nights, but found out was diffident and delicious. Hotel provided shuttle pick up from station. Staff is so nice. I was on the 4th floor and as it was an older building, there was no elevator. The staff took up my luggage without having to ask, but it was still a lot of stairs for me. Also, and this isn't really a complaint because I didn't actually mind, but despite it being "Isaribi (No Children)", there WERE children?? I think they should change their title...?

I loved everything about my room, the bed was amazing, the bathroom was super nice and clean, and the private bath was SO GREAT. There were huge windows in the room looking out to the forests and ocean, and the birdsong was so amazing. I paid extra for dinner and breakfast and that was an excellent decision, it was some of the best food I've ever had. I felt so pampered while I was there and the staff was not only very gracious, they also told me about local events in the area I could visit and shuttled me to and from the train station.

The bathroom vanity and faucets are a bit dated, but this is pretty minor and our stay was outstanding still.

Incredible view from our 2nd floor room of the ocean! The Kaiseki dinner and the breakfast was some of the best food we had in multiple weeks in Japan and was served in our room, delicious across the board. Loved having a private soaking tub in our own bathroom! Also with amazing open-air windows with ocean view. Staff were so incredibly friendly and accommodating. Got picked up from train station. Excellent communication on Booking. l. Of note, Booking did not let us initially choose a room with meals, and so the ryokan reached out to us personally to ask so we could add on meals! also there was someone with nut allergy in our group, and they were very accommodating of that for the meals.

The facilities may be a bit tired. For the same cost there could be newer options. But given all the good sides and for a small-scale hotel as it is, we were fine with that.

The hotel is very close to the Izu-Ōkawa station. You may inform them of your arrival time and shuttle service could be arranged. Upon arrival, we were warmly received and a welcome drink was served. The room came with a private outdoor onsen, which was the main reason of our pick of this hotel. There were two common onsen (each with an indoor and outdoor onsen, so you may say four in total) for reservation (which would then become for private use) and during our stay it was very easy to get in. Basically you could check from your phone or their screen whether they were empty and after you got in, you locked the door. We chose a plan with dinner and breakfast, both served in the room. They were bountiful and consisted mainly of seafood and vegetables, which were specialties of the region. It was a great getaway from the city. Thank you Isaribi!
