We booked the top floor room with a view. The view is fantastic, we enjoyed seeing the torii gate day and night. Kaiseki style dinner was excellent. The customer service is top notch!

We loved our stay at Kikunoya! We had one of the traditional Japanese rooms with tatami mat flooring tatami bedding combined with the kaiseki style meal. The highlight of our stay was the very personal service from the staff, they truly made the stay feel intimate and made it a very memorable experience. We very much enjoyed the kaiseki meal, the Onsen and our traditional room. On top of this Miyajima is truly its most magical after dark and in the morning when most tourists have left the island. This really made the experience of staying over night even more memorable!

Only thing is that there was music outside at 7am each morning, I assume coming from the temple. Otherwise the room and area are very silent and we slept very comfortably.

Great experience overall. They have a shuttle that brings you to and from the ferry terminal. The hotel is situated just behind the Itsukushima Shrine, giving you the opportunity to go there early in the morning before the crowds arrive. The room was comfortable, they have the choice of western-style or Japanese-style rooms. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. They catered attentively to our gluten-free needs.

A little walk from the main street - fine as we did it before sunset but just to be aware. We didn’t go for dinner at the hotel - there are options on the street so don’t worry. I was under the impression a lot of places were closed for dinner but there were at least a list of 10 restaurants that the hotel gives you on arrival to check out.

Lovely check-in by staff. Amenities provided near reception so minimise wastage. Public bath available which we used, which was lovely. Had lovely breakfast.

In general everything was good. The only thing I will mention is that the dinner that is offered is too expensive.

The personnel is amazing, super nice and helpful. The onsen is nice, and the breakfast is pretty good. The rooms are good and comfortable.

The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The hotel was charming and our room was very comfortable. The onsen was a wonderful added bonus and the traditional Japanese breakfast an utter joy. Could not recommend more highly!

Unable to call them to pick us up from the ferry with our luggage as their number cannot be called from a mobile phone for some reason.

Well located in a quiet street but within walking distance of the main sights. Lovely view of the floating Tori gate from our room. Very friendly and helpful staff especially at dinner. Excellent food but you do seem to need to confirm that you are eating there before you arrive even if you have half board booked. Very nice onsen.

staff was great. one young lady in particulsr was darling and had such a great personality. we enjoyed our stay there. didnt realuze that we could of gotten a shuttle from the ferry so we got a taxi. lication was good too. be prepared to do some uphill walking from the waterfront tho

There is no terrace with a view. Some rooms have a beautiful view but the glass of the windows have a strange grid - I learned that this is to avoid glass shattering in case of a fire.

Lovely place. I would definitely stay here again.
