The property is not very suitable for families with young children. I travelled with two children (4y and 7m), and there were no baby cots available for my younger child. Also, we were only allowed to check in at 3pm even though we arrived at 2.30pm. During this time, I had to change my baby’s diaper. However; there was nowhere in the lobby that I could do so as the toilet had no baby changing facilities and the staff on duty informed me that I could not change my baby at the lobby lounge as there were other guests present. Only after I protested strongly, given that there was no suitable facility for me to do so in the toilet did the staff reluctantly allow for me to change my baby in the lounge. Property should review its facilities and policies in relation to this.

The property is very close to the town center, which can be easily accessed on foot. It is also very new and clean.

The hotel is located between the Kusatsu Onsen bus terminal and the Yubatake and are very accessible to each other within a 5-10 minute walk. The staff and the hotel manager were very helpful and friendly. I lost my iPhone in the highway bus the day before and they helped us communicated with the bus company and handled it really well. The phone would barely be found again without the help of the hotel staff. The stay was very comfortable and we were served with excellent Japanese gourmet for our breakfast and dinner. When we were about to leave the hotel, the hotel staff even offered us a bus trip to get to the bus terminal for free. This was really helpful as we got lots of heavy luggages to carry along. I would definitely choose to stay in this hotel if I go to Kusatsu Onsen again.

Kaiseki dinner is the only complain I have, didnt taste like up to standard, but definitely look very pretty & well-presented.

There is a lot to like about this property, staying there was an experience I wont forget. From the entrance, to the lobby, to the onsen, to the room and the outside Jizou Onsen area. Also, all the staff in general couldnt do enough to help.

There is a toilet inside the onsen changing room and it is so so smelly and make me feel uncomfortable while getting change. I stayed for 2 nights and both days have the same awful smell.

No shuttle bus to bus station, have to roll luggage up steep hill. Also motion detector lights in room a bit annoying.

Location! Only 5 mins walk from Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal and the Yubetake. The room was beautifully decorated in minimalist style spacious and comfortable. The kinseki dinner had a fusion twist to the traditional but the food was excellent.

Occasionally there were language challenges. But that is to be expected when travelling in a country where English is not the first language.

What can I say? The food was exceptional. Having our onsen was a wonderful experience.

Staff met us at the 3F entrance as we arrived by taxi but did not assist with luggage. There is only 1 lift so sometimes it was better to use the stairs.

The hotel design is very appealing, it has only been open a year, so convenient to Yubatake, bus terminal, onsens, etc. The check in was smooth, efficient & personal. We had a young lady from Nepal who spoke good english. Very spacious & comfortable rooms, lovely onsen on 1F, the breakfast & dinner was impressive & delicious. Free tea/coffee till 5:30pm. We certainly would recommend others to stay here and we would love to return.

No breakfast or dinner availability on both days we stayed, nor were we asked in advance to book. Onsen is closed for a few hours right in the middle of the day. Staff wouldn’t let us check in a mere 6 minutes early (14:54!) until it was questioned.

The poor sound isolation, I stayed at the lowest floor, very noisy from the upper floor, especially at midnight, always walking and jumping, very annoying during the sleeping time. I complained with the hotel staff, and she checked that was the China Family

There was some dust underneath the room table, behind the air purifier. It was also disappointing that the outdoor bath is closed due to the winter weather; would’ve been nice to enjoy some scenic view from there.

The architecture is stunning. Both night and morning meals were meticulously prepared and delicious. Staff were always helpful.
