The beds were too hard for my liking.

The hotel had a great design and vibe on the ground floor. There was a large table and couch area to sit at to work or eat if needed. The location was good - close to the main shopping area but also quiet.

The access of the property is however on a very narrow road and hence no taxi would come inside. So one needs to lug around heavy luggage till the main road to get a taxi. Also, the stairs are very narrow if one has a big luggage like I did and there is no staff in the property to help carry the same. Other than this, the place is very nice and serene to relax for a few days.

The Machiya Kamiumeya is in a nice neighbourhood, very clean and tidy and very aesthetically pleasing.

I came here to film for my YouTube channel travelwonderfun about Japan and things you can do so definitely I suggest stay here as it is a hotel near to the main streets of Osaka and also a good option if you want to visit universal studios japan.

Comfortable, very helpful and nice staff, good rooms, a big TV, charge stations. Also staff gave me a better room for the same price due to availability and that was super nice. I liked the hotel enough to spend an additional night there.

The staff was super friendly and accomodating. They recommended local restaurants to visit and did not disappoint. It is also well located and you get the feeling of being in a normal Japanese neighborhood while being close to a main street.

Check-in time very inconvenient (4pm). Found abusive the policy that if you lose the card of the room you have to pay 5,000 yens (almost 35$ for a card!).

- Without AC blasting on 25 C and more, the room was quite cold (we were visiting the end of March). - Some staff speak English while some don't, probably depends on a shift. - It wasn't a big deal for us, but the room isn't cleaned unless you specifically ask a day before.

While the room was quite small, it is a) indicated during booking and b) is expected in Japan, and it had everything we needed. The hotel looks very nice and new, and it's located about 10 minutes on foot from the metro and 30 minutes of walk from Dotonbori area. You can get as many amenities as you need from the station downstairs (shampoo, conditioner, face cleansers and masks, tea, fresh towels, etc.). It was overall a nice stay.

Not the fastest elevator ever, considering i was on the 10th (top) floor it did take a while at times to get up n down. The window in the room was also a clouded one, which meant i couldn't see much outside (not that there was a lot to see, considering it's within those small streets)

Very nice small hotel amongst the smaller inner streets of an Osaka grid. Not too noisy, and pretty close to metro stations. Hotel itself aint one of the massive ones, a modest ~10 rooms per floor, and during my stay wasn't too crowded. Convenience stores and vending machines are plenty nearby too

I liked everything.

The hotel is extremely well-located. It's very close to Dotonbori and the shopping arcades. There are 7-Eleven and FamilyMart stores right next door. The rooms are small but comfortable, especially the bed and the super fluffy pillows. The bathroom is spacious, which is very pleasant. Unbeatable value for money. The hotel is in a quieter part of the city, but still within a short walk from a subway station. The staff were pleasant and welcoming, and the room was clean and comfortable. Dotonbori is about a 20 minute walk away, and there are plenty of restaurant options between the hotel and the shopping districts.

The distance from some of the central locations is a little bit far, especially if you are walking. Getting to the location is not too bad from one of the nearby stations though.

The hotel looked very professional when walking in and the rooms were very clean, organised and quite spacious. THe staff were very friendly, helping you check in and providing extra information about the area.

Nothing in particular. I would love there to be a microwave of a sort somewhere in the hotel, since hotel does not serve any food, it was a little hard to try to enjoy something warm. (Though there is actually a kettle in the room if you want to have a cup noodle)

Great and helpful staff, very clean, close to main street and to subway lines, confortable bed and opportunities. Also the staff helped me a lot to increase my stay one more day and told me about a room upgrade that would be better as both rooms were the same price.
