Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe hotel is a tad bit older than other ones in the area, so there's definitely a bit of wear and tear, but overall it's still very clean.
This hotel is located right next to the station, so it is very easy to get to and has a lot to do around it. The room was clean and comfortable.

Very close from the station! So many nice restaurants and shops are within 5 mins by walk. There is a big bath on the top floor, it's not large but very comfortable and clean. It makes your stay nice. The room is small and tad dated but clean!

JapanJust one pillow. Two would be better. The breakfast was disappointing. Most items came from frozen packages: mini-omelets, potato rounds. Some dishes did seem to be prepared in the kitchen: a dish with sliced pork and lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes. However, I can recommend the rolls. You can heat them up. BUT THERE IS NO BUTTER, only margarine. The breakfast room is not pleasant, chairs do not move easily. I arrived at 6:50, the room was full, so there must have been a crush of people at the opening time of 6:30. No bottle of water was provided in the room.
The room was clean. No tears or stains on the wallpaper or anything like that. It had a closet with four or five hangers. Naturally, it was small, but you expect a small room for that price in Japan. Bathtub was not long enough to lie down in, but that's OK. I asked for a high floor, and the hotel gave me a room on the top floor, 14th floor. My room was right next to the laundry room, which was good for me because I wanted to do laundry. It was also next to the o-furo (sento) area, so there were people walking and talking in the hallway at night. If you want the 14th floor, say: Not #1402, please. There was a view (not beautiful) from a window. This is much better than hotel room windows that face a wall. I liked the pajamas. They were "monk-style."

JapanIf you’re a tall person like me (6’5” or 194cm) it’ll be on the edge of too small. The hallways were just high enough that I could walk but I couldn’t stand up straight in the shower. But also it’s Japan so that can’t be helped some times. There were some marks on the carpet and walls that maybe have been there for a while. I also had sheets that had a near worn out hole in them and even though I signed up for the eco cleaning (don’t change the sheets or give me new towels) they still left new towels and toiletries hanging on my door every day. Long story short it just didn’t feel very clean and there was small frustrations added up.
It’s really conveniently located and the breakfasts are good!

JapanI seemed to spend so much time waiting for an elevator and the breakfast was only okay with limited variety.
The location was ideal. Barely 2 minutes walk from the station and a lot of that distance is covered from the elements which is great when it was snowing as much as it was. Being so central also meant there was easy to access to a variety of restaurants too. The public bath in the hotel also had a nice view of the city.

United StatesBed was very hard and stiff. Room only had 2 prong electrical outlets. but went to lobby and they lent me a converter Bathroom has the feel of a plane or train bathroom but I’m noticing that may be a Japanese thing as all the bathrooms in the hotels I’ve stayed at while here are like that. The room. bathrooms are modular I assume so they can be replaced as needed.

JapanIt was difficult to understand when the garbage would be collected and you would be given new towels. I had too many towels because they left them everyday, but they didn’t collect the trash unless I left it in the hallway. The document explaining this process was only in Japanese and was difficult to understand. The bed is more firm than I like, but I still slept ok.
Very clean and easy to access from Fukui Station. The breakfast had a lot of options with both Western style and Japanese options. The room was large and had extra storage and desk space. The refrigerator was big and didn’t freeze my items. There was no issue asking for an extra pillow.
