Bed mats were very thin. Needed to get more to make it comfortable (slept in other traditional places and they were comfortable). Also wasn’t very clean. Had mold in the first room we got. Bathroom was a bit claustrophobic

The property is very close to all the main attractions in Asakusa. The staff at the ryokan were very kind. The room was small (for European standards) but very comfortable to stay in. As a bonus, we had a great view on the pagoda.

Staff was so kind with great English skills! Comfortable room (a bit larger than I anticipated - we had a suite). Loved the bath on the 6th floor.

Due to sudden retirement of their head chef, there is no breakfast offered as of August 1. Very few power outlets as well, which is to be expected. One of the shoji screens had a couple of holes in it.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the onsen was really special. Futon were comfortable as well. The location is absolutely unbeatable, right down the street from Senso-ji. There is a wonderful view of the temple and pagoda from the room, and a view of Tokyo SkyTree from the onsen. The yukata were really nice! Windows open and there is a little balcony.

The subway isn't great for a JR pass user. The station is also old and looks concerning when you arrive.

Excellent location. Great Skytree view from womens bath, disappointed I couldn't see Sensoji, but what a great walkable location.

The executive room is a bit too small for 4 adults. I expected a separate lounge area but photos were not super explicit, hence my comment about pricing.

Shower head is super low, can’t shower standing up right. Mattress is quite thin so very uncomfortable.

It was a shame that they could not offer breakfast during our time there as we had seen it online and were looking forwards to experiencing it for ourselves.

We loved the location, the staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was lovely and the traditional baths on the top floor were wonderful after a long day of exploring Tokyo!

Nothing that seems a big problem.

The location was perfect and pretty safe for solo travellers, especially women. The room was small and cozy and quiet, and the window had the view to Sensoji temple which is a big bonus and I was really happy for this. The staffs there were friendly and helpful, the landlord was friendly too, he was supportive in keeping my luggage till noon so that I can have a couple hours more to explore Asakusa area.

You are not allowed to store you bag since there is no much space in their warehouse.

Love the experience to stay at ryokan. Small but clean and have everything i need. I really enjoy that they provide a radio 🤗

The nearest coin laundry is about 5mins walk. Onsen is not large and usually out of order so the other one became a first come, first serve bath (flip in use or vacant sign), otherwise a very good temperature sento. Rigid rule where I couldn't bring a lidded drink up to my room. A touch of visible mould here and there.

Location is the best feature. Some staff were polite and professional.

The older man at reception was rude to me but it may have been because I asked a question early in the morning.

Good location and relaxing baths. There is a sign on the bath that lets people know if you are using them. The futon are pretty comfortable but a little small.

There is only one onsen and it is not clear whether a man or woman is in the onsen. This leads to one person taking over the onsen so I rushed instead of relaxing. I wish there where times for men's onsen and women's onsen. Also I must have left my room too late because it wasn't cleaned.

No free Wi-Fi was offered, I saw it as a connection option but it wasn’t written down anyway for you after checking in. From 10pm-7am you must also remember the door code or you’re locked out all night!

The Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu is very well located right in the heart of Asakusa, next to the Senso-Ji. It was a very pleasant stay. I really enjoyed a traditional Japanese inn. My only regret is that my stay there was to short before leaving Japan. Next time, I will stay longer.

The location was very good. It was right in the heart of Asakusa and near the station and all of the attractions. Great food near by. The Japanese Breakfast was really good.
