Everything! The staff is very nice and tries to make you feel comfortable From the second you arrive. The dinner was very delicious and also breakfast was very good. We slept well on our futons and had a nice time in our first onsen.

The rooms were so beautiful, the staff were friendly and kind. The traditional breakfast was delicious and with a beautiful view of the snowy courtyard. We loved it!

Nice Japanese couple who did their best to communicate in English. Used the private onsen and too and they helped fit the traditional Japanese kimono on me. Not far from the station.

For cold days, it can be a little challenging. The room and all of the hotel is prepared with several heating equipments, but since there is a old tradicional house, you may feel a bit cold.

Everything was very authentic. We enjoyed so much staying in a ryokan and to try the japonese bath. The house’s manager was very kind and helpful. She offered us tea when we were not feeling well, she was great.

Absolutely nothing we didn’t like

Wow. This accommodation exceeded all our expectations. The lady who runs it was INCREDIBLE. Stuffed our wet shoes with paper to dry them from the snow and put an extension plug in our room without asking when she realised we’d needed more things plugged in. Went above and beyond without even prompting! 100/10 Also I’d seen reviews about people saying it was cold over night but we had 2 heaters and electric blankets provided, it was -5 outside but we were toasty warm at night. The garden view room is stunning

Loved the experience of staying in a ryokan. We were able to book the onsen a couple of times during our stay, which was fantastic. The traditional Japanese breakfast with views to the ryokan’s garden was just the cherry on the cake.

The property is beautiful and the couple running the Ryokan were so sweet and incredibly helpful and accommodating. They even provided umbrellas on days that it was snowing.

The owners were absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We loved our traditional room and the possibility to book the sentō for a private bath. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped.

The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped (with very effective heaters for the middle of winter!). The breakfast was really nice and served in a beautiful tatami room, and there was an option to book a private traditional bathroom rather than just using the public bath, which was a great option for tourists who aren’t used to Japanese baths.

This is the best of our stays in Japan. The host was extremely welcoming and so hardworking. We only had breakfast and it was out of this world. We were able to book the onsen for family time, don't expect a very fancy looking onsen. The whole property and the rooms had a very traditional Japanese charm. Highly recommended if you are looking for a rokyan in Takayama.

Our bathroom in the room was pretty outdated and could’ve been kept better.

We stayed here for one night, without the dinner. The owner is super lovely. The breakfast was tasty. Onsen was very relaxing and kept well.

Very old beautiful traditional Japanese Ryokan. You can really feel the hospitality from the moment you enter untill the moment you checkout. The included dinner was something I honestly was a little scared of (not knowing what you will eat sometimes is challenging) but they exceeded all my expectations. Everything they gave me to eat was absolutely AMAZING. i regret not having asked the recipe for certain dishes.

I liked everything, I only wish we would have stayed for the breakfast.

Increíble place to stay, if I could give it a 20 out of 10 I would! Truly an experience, you have everything you could ask for in a ryokan and more. The room was beautiful and overlooking a nice little garden with a pond, the bath was perfect and relaxing, and the best of all was the staff with their incredible service!! I would definitely come beck over and over again.

We loved this place. The lady running it is so helpful and lovely! Check in is at 4pm but she made as leave our luggage at reception and when we came back at 4.30pm she had put the suitcases in our room and set some tea and biscuits on the table. Also, let us use the onsen together, my partner and me. At 7.30am the next day our breakfast was ready and waiting for us. Good location, only 5 to 10 min walking from train station. The futons were unexpectedly confortable and the room size was huge to Japan standards Will definitely recommend this place!
