All was lovely. The dinners were spectacular. All food is Japanese- beautifully presented, almost seemed a shame to eat it.

A perfect Ryokan in a gorgeous spot. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. But perfectly located for this area. If you have a chance to stay here - do.

This ryokan is a traditional ryokan right in the middle of the historical town. One of the staff even gave us a tour of the building explaining how it was over a hundred years ago. The food and service was excellent.

The location is perfect, right in the middle of traditional street of Bikan Historical Quarter. The service by the patrons at the ryokan was exceptional and very helpful with information we needed. We stayed in a queen room but room was smaller than than expected but that's normal for ryokans.

Each of the courses were served quite quickly. It would have been nice to have had a little more time between each to spread out the experience (and because we were getting rather full)

It was very interesting to stay in a traditional Ryokan - a unique experience for us. The location was perfect for exploring Kurashiki, which is beautiful.

The futons and specially the pillows were very uncomfortable compared to what we have been provided in other Ryokans. The air conditioning made lots of noise during all night and it was difficult to sleep.

The only comment is that it would have been helpful to have something to sit on/lie on in the room after 3 hours of travel, but that is part of the whole experience. I'm sure we could have ask for the futons to be laid out, but knowing dinner was coming in a few hours it didn't seem make sense. IT's not a real negative...so I do hesitate to say it....

We stayed in the family room, 4 adults, a little cozy when the futons are laid out, lol. We had both the dinner and breakfast set and both meals were delightful. We would never have thought to order meals like that on our own. The servers presented the dishes beautifully. They were pleasant and efficient. The staff were very kind. The Ryokan was beautiful and serene. A perfectly enjoyable stay !

Absolutely loved our stay here. Great location and loved that they give you yukatas to wear. Makes for perfect photo opportunities in the early morning or later afternoon when the crowds disappear. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Minimal english but they do their best to accommodate and make your stay wonderful. The food is delicious and it really feels like stepping back into time staying at this ryokan. My husband and I loved it here!

my first ryokan experience and it’s probably one of my best Ryokan stay, right outside of the famous river in Kurashiki

There is nothing I didn't like about my stay there. If I had known, I would have booked diner on my night's arrival.

The breakfast was traditional Japanese, it was a piece of art. The room was well heated and comfy with private toilet and excellent wifi. The bed was a comfortable futon (made up by the staff). I felt home instantly. It was really nice. The bath was a common bath (Japanese style), with a large bathing area. The small garden was also very nice.

The onsen was nice but quite small (although there weren't many guests so it was very private). We waited a little longer than expected for the staff to help make our beds after our meal, which would normally be fine but with small children it was difficult as they were very tired. In hindsight I should've called the reception sooner. I would recommend families request some bedding to be prepared earlier.

The staff were incredibly kind and cooked delicious vegetarian meals on request. The entire ryokan was clean and comfortable. It was an easy walk from the train station / to a local bus stop, which the staff helped us to locate/provided a bus timetable without even being asked. The staff were happy to provide extra towels/children's tableware.

Stale tiny smelly rooms. Bad coffee machine. The food was served in your room. Was ok. No western style breakfast. Bad coffee machine is available. They sent us to the sister hotel for western style breakfast. We could not touch a thing. Awful. Went to a coffee shop.

the room is very small and had its good days over. the matress and the pillow need urgent replacement, at least good airing and sun bathing. the breakfast could be better and more. it is too expensive in price-value matter.

the dinner has high standard and quality. the staff is very polite. the entree is beautiful.
