Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe wardrobes for personal belongings are so small, almost all guests had their bags laying near the reception desk or with themselves.
Delicious breakfast and the ability to use the onsen upstairs makes this place worth a visit. Only for a night or 2 though if you are tall like me, because the capsules are not that comfy.

United StatesNormal issue with a capsule hotel feeling a little tight and a lack of soundproofing with the rooms made snoring a bit of an issue
Excellent location, excellent spa connected, all I could ask for out of a capsule hotel

FranceMany annoying littlle things like not much space for luggages, no space to work comfortably (no call/no drink), many spaces only accessible with pyjamas, or you take slippers only for the elevator to access the restaurant but you should take them off before enter the restaurant…

CanadaSeriously the best modern accomodation of my stay in Japan, would give higher than 10 if I could. Loved it here. Excellent value for money. Included ammenities( towels, pyjamas, razors, brushes, hairdryers, soaps/lotions/creams, etc) Public bathing included showers, steam sauna, cold bath, hot bath, jacuzzi bath. Plus two outdoor rooftop bath/lounge areas. Included breakfast was fantastic, continental, but more of a Japanese menu than western (fried/grilled mackerel, tofu with toppings, miso, braised pork, rice, eggs, and more). Lounge area with comfortable reclining chairs with chargers and tvs. Clean and spacious capsule with tv. Pyjamas and towels readily available everywhere. Fantastic staff with service in English. I cannot sing praises of this place enough, it was really the best. Variety of massage styles and lengths available at a reasonable rates

AustraliaBreakfast was no satisfying at all, I would improve it. In my opinion there are probably too many rules in the Hotel, but maybe it's just a matter of getting used to them. It's definitely an experience. The staff don't speak English really well, so sometimes it's a bit complicated to understand all the rules.
The SPA is really good, especially the one on the roof. Capsules are big and comfortable. The Hotel location is really good: walking distance from Gion. The neighborhood is full of restaurants and pubs.

PhilippinesNone that I can think of. Maybe to CCTVs in the bathhouse area and the size or the locker room (width). Just keep it up and maintain the great service and quality of your facilities.
I like the way it is organized and how they assisted their guests with respect. I like the amenities, great food and accessible in Kyoto tourists' destinations and other historical spots. Kudos to Julia, one of the front desk staff, she is very helpful, courteous, and with a very good customer service/concierge skill.

United KingdomThe lockers were too small, so I had to store my carry-on(small backpack) near reception, and a lot of ppl just left their backpacks on the locker room floor, making it hard to access my locker. Can't comment on the spa, as I have tattoos, and wasn't allowed in.
The place was clean and was at a great location.

RussiaThis was the last place I could find, given the spring season in Kyoto. And it's awesome! The price/quality ratio is excellent. Ideal location. Excellent buffet breakfast. The sauna was wonderful. The important point is that this is an exclusively men's hotel, and this creates its own atmosphere, the opportunity to find new friends and have a great time. And an important point - think of it as a spa, not a hotel. Then pajamas won’t seem like a strange accessory.

GermanyThat I had to leave.
EVERYTHING! The location is great. The Hotel with breakfast included, top!. Everyday fresh sheets, pijama and bottle of water in the capsule. Reception open 24 hours. The workers are all of the really nice!!! The Onsen, 24 hours open (I think, if not, they close just a couple of hours), with 3 different Saunas and a great outside Spa with views of the city. Every bathroom was ready with toothbrush, razor and anything you can need. The installations are clean and new. It's definitely one of the best experiences that I've had in my whole life. Best relation between price and quality ever. I recommend it 200%. (Just in case you have tattoos, you have to cover them to use the Onsen)

NetherlandsThe ventilation of the smoking rooms felt a bit poor at times. Causing a smokey smell to leech into the rest of the building.
There was delicious free breakfast. And the (included) bathing facilities are wonderful. After a long day of walking around Kyoto, nothing beats sitting in a rooftop bath under the night sky (although you can't see the stars with all the city lights of course).

United StatesI didn’t like that I had to leave.
This place has truly ruined capsule hotels for me. This was NOT a hotel, this is a RESORT. 3 levels of spa, tons of meeting space, breakfast buffet?? Wtf how is this possible for $32??? I would stay here a week and not leave if I had the time.

United StatesLarge luggage had to be stored separately outside. The lockers were extremely compact. Nothing else to say after that.
The built-in spa was amazing and exceeded my expectations. There was also included breakfast that satisfied my appetite at 6am. The location of the spot was convenient to many tourist attractions.

IsraelBreakfast didn’t have many options for people who don’t like Japanese food for breakfast. The hotel can add hard boiled egg and some cereals and it will make things much better. You should know that there are CAMERAS in public areas of the onsen, which means camera in areas you are naked. If that makes you feel uncomfortable (understandably) then book another place.
Best location, amazing onsen, very comfortable bed.
