Not sure why you have to give your car keys over every single time you come and go, I understand the shoes but the car keys is excessive

The staff seemed a little cold which was surprising given the glowing reviews and it was a let down, maybe they were just over the busy season? It was subtle but some of the staff came across as impersonal and some guests appeared to receive different treatment. For example some guests were offered slippers when taking off their ski boots by staff in front of me taking my boots off and when I wasn't offered any slippers. Given the proximity to a number of ski slopes staff could offer information about where to catch buses or other resort information to guests that are clearly skiing - I just went to the visitor information centre for this info. because the front desk didn't seem that approachable or interested.

The location is excellent, only a short walk from the main train station. The resort offers a shuttle bus to pick you up from the station. The rooms are really spacious and well designed. The outdoor onsen was excellent. Other than the comment below the staff were efficient and there were many at hand.

That’s a little issue about communication in English but most staffs are helpful and trying to help their customers a lot. Great recommend to make a ski program with co partner benri too

It’s a bit difficult to book dinner meal there so next time I will not miss it .

- Nothing else.... Only the slippery falls easily when I am walking.

- spacious room for two people. - the pillow is very comfortable and I slept very well with it!! - staffs are all very nice and willing to help, even with limited English:-) - the location is also perfect! Only 4-5 min walk from the west exit of the Echigo-Yuzawa station. There are lots of shops and restaurants in the same street.

Only issue was me almost slipping on ice out the front of the building. Hotel is located on an incline. A kindly man told me to step in the flowing water to get grip on the ground

Exceptional service, felt very cared for, huge rooms and super clean too. Had great views of the snow and mountains, and private Onsen available upon booking! The property only has a few rooms (relative to other hotels in the area), so it was homely and not crowded. Free shuttle from hotel to airport and only short walk/drive to the rentals and slopes. Will definitely come back

The bed is quite far from air conditioner/heater given the room was spacious so it could be too cold or too warm when we adjusted the temperature.

Offered boots for free rental during snow period and japanese sandals during summer.

We went off-season so there were not many shops/ restaurants open. Our solutions were 7-11 and New Days.

A great place to wind down and calm your mind. The onsen facility is very good. We tried both the private and public spaces. Love the outdoor onsen experience. The hotel has a very lovely lounge with free coffee, tea and snacks. The location is near the train station, comfortable walking distance.

The entrance area was very pretty and welcoming. The staff were warm and helpful. We stayed in a Japanese room, which was spacious even with the futons out all the time. The baths were enjoyable.

This was a wonderful hotel with a great onsen and rotenburo/outdoor bath, excellent staff, kids room my 3 year old loved, and lounge tea, coffee, sake service. Would absolutely stay here again. Centrally located near the station in town.

The booking.com description is misleading, it says the modern rooms have a private onsen & fire place which isn't true. Only the top floor do which was unavailable & disappointing

Loved this place, spacious room & helpful friendly staff who helped us book a sake brewery tour. Private room dinner was nice, enjoyed wearing the yukata & visiting the onsen

Poorly explained sales pitch on arrival talked us into paying $70 for a 6 inch fish extra for dinner. No it was not a puffer fish and was certainly not needed given the number of courses. The room description lost something in translation - private hot tub and fireplace would more accurately read bathtub and room heater.

Great ambience and very nice onsen. The multi course dinner is served in a private alcove and is a great experience. The public spaces in the hotel are beautifully laid out.

Stayed in the Western-style Renewal A room for 2 nights. Love the room - new, clean, and spacious layout. Wonderful hospitality - staff very friendly and helpful, and able to understand English. Kaiseki dinner splendid and sumptuous. Great location plus free parking.
