We stayed in a private room which was big but there was a very unpleasant smell in the room and there were no proper blinders on the windows which in the morning was super bright, I know this is a minor but I was planning to have a lazy morning but was up at 6! Haha

    The onsen is amazing.

The lock system on the room’s door. Anytime someone doesn’t close the door well, it makes an annoying alarm

The onsen, the spacious capsules, the nice lounge to eat / cook / chill

Access from the street is a bit tricky for those with big luggages, would recommend traveler to bring a backpack with necessities and leave their luggage in coin lockers in the Odawara station.

Very well facilitated, especially the lounge room! Highly appreciate the indoor and outdoor onsen which also allows those with tattoos to join :). Overall vibe is very cozy and homey, probably the best accommodation during my trip!

Would be nice to have breakfast in the morning but the there is bakery and other places nearby to eat.

The entrance, when leading down the stairs, how clean the environment felt to excellent greeting. First time here and it actually exceeded my expectations to be honest.

The onsen was fabulous and the location was idyllic. We loved the smaller village feel and listening to the sounds of the river from our balcony. The communal area is simply amazing, with an awesome kitchen space, coffee, games, space to chill. Staff were so accomodating. What an excellent end to our Japan holiday!

Nice and clean with stunning view! We stayed in a private room with private bathroom which was very convenient. The lounge area was beautifully decorated and lovely to spend some time there. We also really enjoyed the Onsen baths.

The ONLY downside is the fact that the cleaning room with showers is only attached to the indoor onsen and there is a small corridor you have to go through to get to the outdoor onsen. You are not allowed to do it while wearing a towel so have to get dressed after cleaning at the indoor onsen and then getting undressed at the outdoor onsen. However this is TINY inconvenience in comparison to the amazing staff, facilities and enviornment.

It was awesome. It has everything you'd want (at least from a capsule booking perspective). The capsules themselves are very spacious - enough for bag / suitcase and then even more space behind the pillow (enough for clothes / bag) with multipled charging ports (usb/sockets) and a shelf + 4 digit safe to boot! Temperature was also perfect, it was so comfy to sleep and I'm fairly tall! The facilities: The kitchen is SO amazing. Has every single cooking equipment & utensils you could imagine. Even a drip coffee set! I went to the kitchen in the morning to find people making their own drip coffee! Coffee is also free along with a whole bunch of different teas. The living / common area - it's attached to the kitchen and is SO cozy. There is a more modern styled section with tables and chairs that's then connected to a very japanese traditional area with very low tables and a nice atmosphere. (I got tipsy on sake and fell asleep there reading manga haha). They actually provide a full bookshelf worth of different mangas to use for free! There's also a board with a ton of information too. There was a recommended wagyu burger place and it was awesome with extremely cheap cocktails! Called 'Funny's Grill & Bar' I think. Finally for the big one, the onsens! They are obviously Hakone onsens so the water is very nice with the natural smell you'd expect. There are both indoor and outdoor onsesns (both gender segregated). The outdoor one is smalled but has the most amazing atmosphere. Sitting there at night or morning is an experience everyone should try at least once. I got lucky and had it to myself both times I went! It's also right outside a bus stop which is around halfwayish between the lake and Hakone-Yumoto station so it's very convenient. AND IT WAS SO CHEAP, 100% reccomend.

It is very difficult to find where the property is. I would recommend putting a sign next to the door to know exactly where the guesthouse is.

A bigger towel would have been nice. Also directions on which way is best to reach the hostel using the Hakone pass.

The bed was massive. It was very clean and comfortable both in the rooms and lounge area. The onsens were amazing. They provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash and lotions. There is a 7 eleven at the bottom of the hill (3mins walk) and the bus stops is a 1 minute walk (H bus with Hakone pass stop 312).

Nothing. Only that you have to rent a ‘pyjama’ like outfit to enjoy the outdoor Onsen. But it would be actually ok to use your own pyjama or comfy wear (not your street wear)

Such a lovely place. The community area is so beautiful and has a great atmosphere. You can make tea or coffee any time and enjoy the view and the sound of the river. The Onsen is also a big plus. it’s also super easy to get to. Loved it. The most beautiful hostel I stayed in Japan.
