The hotel is centrally located, in quite a bustling area of the city. It was easy to find places to eat and near transport. The room was quite comfortable and very clean. Staff were very helpful and the mainly Japanese breakfast was both interesting and substantial.

This was a great location next to the train station, we were able to return our car in Kagoshima airport and take an easy shuttle to the base of the hotel, which was about a 30 minute drive. The hotel lobby was on the 7th floor. The weather was cloudy and rainy and weren’t able to see too much of the volcano/Mountain View but when we did have some clarity it was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and we were able to store our luggage for two hours after checking out which was very convenient. Overall a great stay!

the location was perfect for us as it’s very near JR station and the airport bus just at the hotel entrance. Booked a room of 2 single beds with beautiful Sakurajima Mountain Views. staying there for 6 nights, feel comfy with great views, room size of about 22m, bathroom had shower and bathtub which was great. breakfast had local and western style of food.

Perfectly placed for both the train station and the bus to the airport. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. We booked a room with a view of the volcano. The room was well equipped, a good size, very clean.

The thing I didn't like about the stay with this hotel was that I had only one night in Kagoshima city. I have a high school friend who lives in Kagoshima. I didn't contact him this time because I know I didn't have enough time to spend there.

The rental car was from Budget. The car-return-station was a walking distance. There was a park along the way that people were enjoining cherry blossoms. We took some pictures, too. Google map/GPS guided us to the hotel, but it was a little difficult to find the entrance because of the hotel signage, which was not so visible. I had an impression that the hotel is a standalone building, but it was a part of a large commercial structure. Front lobby, which is very spacious and was really nice, is located up in 7th floor of the building. The staffs were nice and pleasant to talk to. The room was okay size for a city-hotel. However, the bathroom was comfortably sized. Not like a typical Japanese sized micro-bathroom. We really liked it. The room was called "mountain view", but there was a handrail of some sort outside of the room that obstructed from having a clear mountain view. If it was one floor up, it would have been nice. Leaving Kagoshima, we took a bullet train from Kagoshima-Chuoh-Station, a walking distance, which was located across the street. From the hotel, there's an underground pathway to the station, which worked out really nice due to having rain outside the street.

Washing machine and dryer didn’t quite clean and dry clothes too well, but it was better than nothing.

Staff went above and beyond to help, especially the lady that helped us with our ferry tickets. Cleaning staff were also very accommodating and helpful. Sufficient sized rooms. Close to train station.

Great location in front of the Kagoshima Chuo station! They even gave us a room with a pretty view of Sakurajima the vulcano. Staff was really helpful and met all my requests/questions that I had. Would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Kagoshima!

While the room is large it is too cluttered. If they would remove the extra couch and table, space would be comfortable. The way it is we had trouble placing our suit cases.

Central location across the street from the train station and a mall. - The bathroom was large and modern and even came with a small window. - The view can be great depending on the direction your room is facing.

The little hiccup was the access badge reader in the lift. I had trouble with it at first. Need to tap on the reader and wait for the green light before push on the floor button, although it sometimes took a few tries to work.

Very convenient from the train station as you can access to the lift for the hotel after walking though the subway. Near the train station and the tramway. Easy to go to Sakurajima ferry port wth the tramway. Very clean and classy. The hospitality was excellent. The staffs were helpful and nice. The room with the sea view was magnificient on Sakurajima. Also, the facilities with the vending machines, the washing machine and dryer on the same floor were very convenient. Remember to take some coins for the machines. We will be happy to go again at Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Kagoshima.

Excellent location with the airport bus stop right beneath the building and Kagoshimachuo station and city tram stops just across the road. The underground passageway leading to the station had many small eateries and there were many shops in Amu Plaza across the road from the hotel. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was of good size and the facilities were clean. You can see Sakurajima in the lobby.

Its location is just a short underground walk from the JR Kagoshimachuo station which is extremely convenient & very acessible to lots of food outlets at AMU Plaza and several others around the streets close by. With the city view bus and the tram station, travelling to most places of interest is really easy. Room is standard around Japan but we had a great view of the Sakurajima volcano. The bathroom & toilet is bigger than most city hotels.

I had booked a volcano view room but when I arrived was “upgraded” to a bigger room - but with a view of the shopping centre. It wasn’t possible to “downgrade” myself back to the room I booked, which was very disappointing. The main reason I was in Kagoshima was to see the volcano at Skurajima. The bed was pushed up against the wall, meaning I had to climb over my partner to get out - or else shimmy to the end of the bed. I personally dislike this very much and go to great lengths to avoid it - the photos on booking.com did not really reveal this issue, otherwise I’d probably have booked elsewhere.

Such a convenient location, literally 3 mins walk with bags from JR station, and mostly under cover in case of rain. Also lots of food and shopping choices right nearby, and super close to tourist info and bus station. Fantastic breakfast - great buffet with a wide range of Japanese and Western foods to choose from. Staff very attentive. Hotel very clean and quite spacious by Japanese standards.

The staff was fantastic, super efficient, quick and helpful both during check-in and check-out. While not a luxury hotel, space inside room was very well utilized and clean. Work desk and lamp were useful. Shower room was good and better than average business hotels in Japan. Amenity mineral water bottle was very appreciated. Location is also very practical, with convenience store and bus station below, and high speed train station in front.

Good location, just opposite to the central station. There's a multi adapter charger in the room, which is very helpful. The breakfast was very good, well worth it. There's a kettle and a small fridge in the room. But no microwave though.

Shower temperature a little inconsistent, but not too bad.

- Location - right next to the Shinkansen train station. Amazing view of the volcano if you book the right room. - Access - can basically get there mostly indoors via the subway system. It’s actually the upper floors in a multipurpose building- so you need to find the right elevator. It’s well signposted though. - Public transport - close to the Shinkansen station and the tram system. 40 minute walk, or a tram ride from the ferry terminal. - Restaurants - a street food type court in the basement of the hotel building- we tried a few places in here and they were amazing. There is also a mall with 2 food courts next to the station. Also good quality food. There is a set menu for French food in the hotel restaurant, but to be honest it seemed pricey so we didn’t go. - Staff - staff spoke English, easy check in and check out. - WiFi speed - consistent, around 50-60mbps download and 50mbps upload. - Breakfast - good mix of Japanese and western style foods. Fresh, hot and clean. - Amenities - fridge in the room and some toiletries in the lobby free to take. The obligatory Japanese pjs and slippers. - Bed - against the wall, good to know if that’s an issue for you. Comfortable enough though. - Noise levels - quiet - Temperature - aircon in the room, fine temperature - Shower - good pressure, temperature somewhat inconsistent, but not to any extremes so not so bad. Overall comments - amazing view in a classy hotel. Would stay again.
