How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Always good Japanese options but western options were variable. Some days i only had bread and pastries as the cooked options were too strange (spaghetti and meatballs?) Other days included bacon and eggs.
The hotel is very well located, with good facilities and very helpful staff.

Breakfast was not 100% friendly to western people :C
Super good location. Rooms although small very well distributed, comfortable and staff very friendly. There were a lot of amenities to grab, and very clean everything.

The breakfast was very simple. The rooms were so tiny. They don´t clean the room until you check out.

The breakfast could have little bit more options like fruits, cornflakes etc. There was very little to eat for vegetarians.
Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Location and neighborhood is superb.

Note that room is very small. Not big of a deal but if you are traveling couple it’s demand some good organisation of space.
Clean and tidy hotel. Great location in the very heart of asakusa! Few minutes from metro station, shops and restaurants. Breakfast was tasty - Japanese and international options available. Comfortable bed with selection of different pillows.

Location is very convenient, just two blocks from Sensoji temple. Asakusa is great as a quieter alternative to shinjuku or shibuya. Really recommend it for a short stay. Rooms are small (usual size in Japan) and breakfast is more than ok. Bed was comfy, checking/out easy

We stayed at this hotel on the first night of our trip in Japan. The room was compact, efficient and needless to say, clean. The delicious breakfast was the highlight. We were also pleasantly surprised that we were a minute or two away from Senso-Ji Temple. We did not stay long enough to give a comprehensive review. But in hindsight we wish we did, perhaps the last two nights before departing the country.

Check in at 15PM Staff that don't speak/understand a single word of English Only 1 elevator for the whole building Bathroom very small (the room too but it's quite usual in Japan)

The room was quite compact, but as noted above, we did not expect a large room in this hotel. There could have been more details about the need to check in on the second floor of the hotel on arrival - this was not stated in any of the check in information we received when we arrived.
The hotel was a comfortable place to stay. We appreciated the little touches - such as access to accessories like pillows when you arrive. The breakfast was very extensive, more than we expected, including the open bar at the end of the day. The room was comfortable, not alot of space but we did not expect that so it wasn't a problem. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic.

That very near to any supermarket. Need to walk about 10mins

We found the room a bit small but what bothered us more was the ventilator from the bathroom(very noisy) and the fact that we found hair in the bathroom and bed on the first day. Also, having breakfast open from 6:30 to 8:30 AM was a bit tough.
Very good location, close to metro and plenty of attractions to see nearby. The breakfast was diverse and the ability to wash our clothes was a plus.
