How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There was only one lift and it was small so it was an absolute nightmare at checkout time because it would take forever to get down with your suitcases.
Next to station, clean, big bathroom.

They do not offer room cleaning for staying under 5 nights. Be aware there is only one elevator so prepare for long waiting time.
Hotel is located close central area and near metro station. Staff was kind enough to lend us vacuum cleaner. They let us keep our luggages at front desk even after check out Room was spacious especially bathroom.

Loved the free coffee in the lobby. Nice room. The size is as expected in Japan, quite small. However, our bathroom was very spacious. The staff tried hard to be helpful, although none seemed to speak english. Pretty close to the subway station

The fact that there was only one lift for 14 floors and when there are big groups you have to wait long to enter the lift.
Comfortable bed and hotel was located close to the Main Street, Dotonburi Excellent breakfast with a great variety of sweet and savoury choices Staff was helpful They offer laundry service

Only one small lift for 10 floors means waiting a while for the lift if the hotel is busy. Not really ideal . No fresh water bottles each day or change of towels. Not a lot of restaurants nearby.
Close to subway . Price is low. Room adequate .

Closed from 12 midnight to 5am
Accomodating staff, good room size, refrigerator, nice cloth of the sleep wear. Short walk to train station and close to Dotonbori. The bed and pillows are comfortable.

The elevator was a big issue. A massive issue, even. There is one little elevator for 12 floors. The fire escape is outside and opens onto a staff area, which is the only other way down. So I did that once, and the other time I rode the elevator all the way up to get down with my bags (I was on the 4th floor so there was simply no way in the morning). The hotel is on the older side and could use a bit of a refresh, but it’s also kind of Osaka charm. The bath was kind of wild, it had a slope and really intense shower pressure, so I was actually a bit worried about slipping. It felt slightly small compared to another hotel I’ve stayed in in Osaka at a similar price point (had to open suitcases on the bed) but you’re still looking at something bigger than Tokyo. I realize I wrote a lot of negative things but other than the elevator it was fine and totally serviceable!
The location was good and it was a pretty good price. The bed was comfortable, just a little firm for my personal tastes. Two kinds of great pillows. Air conditioning in the room worked great. The staff was friendly and let me leave my bags after check-out while we grabbed a bite at a cafe nearby.

To many restaurants nearby. Only 1 lift to serve the entire hotel block and waiting time is long.
Property is clean and new. Staff were effective and friendly. Near to Subway station.

The price is right. We are able to park our bikes in their garage. Breakfast was ok, need to add more fruits.

Not good for those with 28 inch (big) luggages as the Hommachi subway has no elevator or escalator directed to hotel. We struggled lifted the luggages to hotel. Taxi to hotel is ok for big luggages.
