Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesPerfect location! Right next to universal studios and city walk and the train station! The room was nice and clean. We even got a corner room that looked at universal studios which was awesome. Even when there was going to be extra noise form universal studios, they left a note in the room explaining and apologizing.

Perfect stay for visiting Universal Studios for a day. So close to the theme park and all the nearby restaurants. Room was considerably larger than the Japanese standard for a twin room. The bathroom and separate toilet were very handy. Would stay here again.

AustraliaWhich the tv had more options for movies etc. in the laundry room the dryers took a very long time.
Close to universal studios so we could walk back after a big day. Friendly and efficient staff that greeted us and were happy to show the children the big fish tank at checkin, which made it sonic easier after a big day of travel. Organised all our bag forwarding needs. Nice little restaurant, plus snacks available for takeaway.

PhilippinesThe buffest breakfast can still Improve.
The staff was very accommodating. All were english speakers. The cleanliness was impeccable. I love their concept of sustainability, that you will just get the hygienic supplies that you need from the toiletries buffet at the lobby. They are also very considerate for luggage safekeeping. We had a blast at Hotel Universal Port, really wonderful experience that we will definitely stay here when we go back to USJ. We had 2 rooms, and they were big enough to have space to move around and open our luggages. The rooms were so cozy and the beds were really comfortable. The room is exactly as the photos. Cleanliness was as expected. We loved the warm toilet seats and the bidet which we also have back home (except the warming seats). The staff were wonderful and responded well to our requests, they even assisted us in calling a taxi and talking in Japanese to explain our destination. The hotel has luggage lockers for 100yen which you can get back after using the locker. The hotel is very conveniently located, less than 5 minutes walk to USJ and Universal City station is less than 2 minutes walk. We felt safe arriving late at night. There is also a restaurant which we tried for room service and the food were yummy. We even ordered a birthday cake, and the service they provided was really greatly appreciated, because not only did they provide the plates, fork, cake cutter, candle (and lighted it for us) but they also made sure that we got a good photo. There is wifi in the hotel but we did not use this as we have pocket wifi.

United StatesMy kids and I loved this Hotel. Our purpose to stay here was because we were going to Universal Studios Japan, and the location was excellent. Just walking for 5 mins to get to citiwalk and theme park, we were there only for 2 nights and we had the top floor. Beautiful view , a lot of spots for pics in the hotel plus their breakfast buffet was delicious. Fresh squeezed orange juice was our favorite drink. The rooms were so spacious for all the luggages I was carrying 7 total. Beds are big and very comfy. There is a bathtub and shower plus lots of amenities in the room including daily facial masks. Simply beautiful. I will most likely return here if I visit Osaka next time and will stay for longer days. I was sad leaving as I wished I stayed there longer.

AustraliaThis place was an acid trip. We don't have children, but when we arrived we could tell it was a family with little kids hotel. However, the venue and hotel rooms were very comfortable and nice to stay in. Happy to see rules for little kids and parents to be mindful of other guests and be quiet and respectful. The breakfast was an awesome selection of food. The staff were very lovely, helpful and presentable.
