Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing, it was great.
It was a short walk over to universal studios and the hotel was created to be a fun, family friendly space. The rooms were comfortable and had a great view, we could watch the fireworks at night if our feet were too tired to stay up. Staff were friendly and helpful and we loved seeing the person cleaning the fish tank and feeding the sharks.

AustraliaWhile the neutral decor was modern, parts of the room were dated such as curtains and paint was peeling in a couple of areas. The room we chose (deluxe) was a bit small for a family of 4.
Nice hot bath, separate toilet, air purifier and very handy location to train, universal studios and the eating district between those. Very clean. Water bottle were much appreciated. Convenient self checkout.

GuamIt's an awesome hotel with a Minion theme in the lobby, elevators, and some rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facility was definitely clean. It is right next to the Universal City train station. It was a brisk walk from the hotel to USJ. They checked us in two hours earlier than the normal check-in time because the room was ready. They also have coin-operated lockers to store your bags and luggage if you do arrive early and your room is not ready for check-in. Those same lockers you can use when you checkout, especially if you have a late night flight and don't want to bring your things around while you're still exploring the area. The size of the room was more than enough. We had a view of the Osaka bay. The ferry to Kaiyukan (Osaka Aquarium) and the Tempozan area is right behind the hotel. This was great because the transport time was 10 minutes compared to the 40-50 minutes on a train with transferring and walking. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend you book Hotel Universal Port for your next stay! * A tip for those who want to make the most time on their trip is to use an airport bus to Universal Studios bus station. It is about an hour ride, but there is no navigating train station or actually figuring it out if you're new to the train system.

MalaysiaReception staff was professional but could have been friendlier or warm. Service felt cold and impersonal.
The room was clean and spacious. Short walking distance to nearby marts, restaurants and Universal Studios. Our room had a bit of view of the park too. The interior was quite unique with a saltwater aquarium behind the reception counter and minions decorated with everywhere else

CanadaLine up to check in at 3pm is extremely long. I'd suggest checking out Osaka for a few hours and coming back at around 6
Biggest hotel rooms I've seen in Japan, with an actual king size bed. Theming was cool, even the hallway carpet looked like a beach. Not right at the park gates but a short walk (less than 10 minutes)

United StatesI have ZERO complaints about this hotel. Our stay here was incredible and we highly recommend staying here if you can afford it.
This is the place to stay if you're going to Universal in Osaka. Right across the street from the theme park and train station makes booking this hotel a no brainer. Our room was beautiful and extremely clean. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We will be coming back here for again in the future for sure.

TaiwanThe view facing the park is pretty much pointless and suffers from some noise coming from the park after the park is closed when they do some equipment testing. Despite having a very large space at the back of the hotel, there was not a single table/chair to relax outside after a long day at the park.
Slightly bigger room size than your average rooms in downtown Osaka, good sound isolation and heat insulation with good AC. Very good size bathroom and bed. Ample elevators and fast check-in/out. Great staff from front desk to the café/restaurant, especially Rex Café staff we cannot praise them enough for their help our daughter's birthday celebration, they are the best. Amenities in the room are great too, nice robes and slippers etc. Food at the Rex café was great albeit a bit pricier than most, we did not try the restaurants due to their high price though. It's a short 5-mins walk away from the park's entrance.

AustraliaWe didn't know the hotel was Minion themed so that was a lovely surprise. The location is perfect for attending Universal Studios. Easily reached with 2 minute walk from the train station. The little shop on foyer and Lawsons across the road were very convenient. We walked through the rear exit and straight onto the Ferry dock to go to Legoland and the Aquarium. We upgraded to a family Bunk room and the kids loved it!! The cute sunken table was a big hit , as was the view into Universal. A great stay! Would stay again.
