Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesI feel compared to other places the staff here can be more friendly and helpful. They are quite frosty and dis- interested. The quilt on the bed needs to be lighter, it gets too hot at night.
The location is great. Right on the Meguro River and next to Starbucks Reserve Roastery. This was my second stay. Its a small, simple, no frills hotel which is just enough when you are going to be out all day. Nakameguro is a great neighbourhood so I am happy to stay here. The station is a 10 minutes walk with lots of resturants and coffee shops along the way.

United StatesEven though the word “hot spring” is in the name of the hotel, the hours are mostly for men! Women only get a few hours at the weekend. So this was very disappointing! Could there be equal hours for women?
Great location on side street next to Meguro River, easy walk to trendy Nakameguro or Shibuya. I was in the area for an event at Tokyo University Komaba Campus and it’s about a 25-minute pleasant walk there through residential streets. Faces a huge glossy Starbucks Roastery that is so popular it has ticketed entry. Even though the location is quite busy, once inside the hotel it’s very quiet. Soundproofing was good, room was spacious enough for a Tokyo hotel, staff were very nice, and I liked all the usual Dormy Inn touches like free ice cream. : )

United Arab EmiratesMy room was very hot. The duvet was very thick, even with the ac I just couldn’t sleep. I had them change it but it wasn’t quite right. Think the room needs a pedestal fan.
I liked the location. Next to a really nice Starbucks Reserve; glad I didn’t take breakfast at the hotel, this way I could start each day at Starbucks. I really enjoyed that. Lovely neighbourhood, 10 mins from the Nakameguro train station and lots of restaurants along the way. Even the Travelers Factory was a 15 mins walk. The room has a double door - this is very cool, you don’t hear the other guests coming and going.

NetherlandsThe only thing was that during our stay there was only one time period in which women were allowed to use the hot spring (during an inconvenient time -- from 19:30 to 22:00) while the men were able to choose from three different time periods (no fair!!!!!!). No explanation was given for this.
The location was excellent! In a quiet place but close to Nakameguro station and also close to Meguro river with all its funky shops and cafes. The deluxe double room we stayed in was very spacious and had a little kitchen area as well as its own washing machine. The bathroom sink was separate from both the Japanese-style bath and the toilet, which was very nice. The fact that there was a hot spring and sauna in the hotel was also fantastic.

PhilippinesWe were looking for the free ramen for midnight snacks, there was none. But anyway, we loved the Yakult and the free ice cream. :-)
Our booking did not have breakfast but it would have been nice if there was option to book breakfast for our convenience.

United KingdomRoom was a little on the small side, I have stayed here several times in the past so knew what to expect, but I really only used the room for sleeping and showering so not really an issue - and this is Tokyo, all hotel rooms in my experience are small!
Good central location, easy walk to Shibuya and Daikanyama. Rooms and all public areas very clean. Very pleasant, efficient staff. VERY comfy bed!

United StatesSoundproofing could be better - I was woken up in the middle of the night by a crying baby. As other reviewers mentioned, there are very limited times women can use the public bath. I happened to stay during those times, but it would be nice if the schedule was more evenly divided between men and women's times.
Clean, decently comfortable, nice that they have a public bath to wind down in the evening.

AustraliaThe toilet overflowed which was a little uncomfortable but was fixed by the time we returned from our tour
We chose this hotel as my nephew lives around the corner and we travelled to Tokyo with his parents. We were delighted to find the canal at the end of the street with all the cherry blossoms. Hotel is basic with no eating facilities but it’s not a problem in Tokyo.
