The staff wasn't very welcoming. We arrived a couple hours before check-in and the manager didn't seem to know what to do with us. We certainly didn't feel as welcome as we did in every other hotel in Japan. The day of checkout (checkout is at 11AM) we had someone knocking on our door at 10:50 pressuring us to get ready. Again, it felt like we were being kicked out which is definitely not what we expected or experienced at all other stays in Japan.

The private Onsen was wonderful. Room was spacious with good amenities. Breakfast was delicious and we got to try the local cuisine.

We showed up a bit early and the staff still accommodated us. Thank you so much for that! The ryokan must have been recently renovated as it is very modern yet still keeps the traditional feel. I felt like I was in a luxury spa. Exceptionally clean as well. The private onsen was our favourite part and was 1000% worth the extra price.

Gorgeous grounds and room, dinner was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Was our favorite place we stayed on our Japan trip. This will be my number one recommendation in the future. Everyone visiting Japan should come here!

Wonderful hospitality, luxurious amenities, very spacious and clean. From the moment we were picked up from Kawaguchiko station to the moment we were dropped off after checking out, we were treated with incredible hospitality from the kind staff. Best accommodation I’ve ever stayed in. No details were missed and they provide everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. Treat yourself and stay here!

It can be difficult to get around the area, as busses are the only real transportation option and they were packed with little standing room.

The private onsen is an excellent way to relax after a long day of exploring. The room was elegantly designed with a serene atmosphere. The onsen was clean and well-maintained. It was a truly excellent and memorable experience.

Beautiful hotel, with private and quiet rooms that were spacious and well kept. Close to the red bus stop 4, Ohashi Bridge and restaurants/supermarket. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. They organised a taxi for us to get out to Chuerita Pagoda at the crack of dawn. The private onsen and breakfast were the highlights of our stay.

This was an exceptional stay. While the onsen doesn't offer a direct view of mount Fuji, we could clearly see it on our drive over thanks to clear skies. When we entered the premises, the staff was attentive immediately. From taking our luggage to making sure we were set up in our room. The room was SPACIOUS, with a lounge area and bedroom with screens to close off sections. The highlight was having our own outdoor bath to enjoy during cold winter nights. Perhaps the most breathtaking aspect of our stay were the meals. We were blown away by our dinner. It was the best thing we ate during out entire trip in Japan (we were in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto prior). We enjoyed a sumptuous parade of dishes that really showed off the local ingredients. We didn't think it could get better, but breakfast the next day was equally, if not more, delicious. While expensive, we enjoyed a serene getaway with our private outdoor bath and excellent meals. Would love to return.
