Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA little bit far from restaurants so you need to walk a little to find food. Maybe would be great if staff could advice what to do in Osh or where to eat close to hotel. However, the city is small and we had no problem whatsoever. We had Leo believe the owners could not advice as it was Ramadan and things change during this month.
Sweet little hotel with very nice manager. Our room was in the top and as a bonus we had birds singing all morning- so beautiful. In general- very simple but comfy hotel with free tea, coffee and lovely local crystal sugar. Breakfast was also nice especially provided the fact that our visit was during Ramadan. Location also good- a quiet street not far from the city centre. Next to the hotel there is a lovely salt cave Also, worth to mention- I had no cash at the start of my stay and owner invited me to share a lunch with them to ensure I am not stressed and well-fed. What a lovely gesture!

United KingdomThe room is very snug and could be a really tight fit for two people. The toilet bin not emptied - a perennial problem in many guesthouses. The guesthouse was being painted and redecorated for the season so there was a strong smell of paint throughout.
Rasul, the host, was very helpful. Location a bit away from the centre but still walkable (and plenty of marshrutkas throughout the day). Good coffee and breakfast satisfactory - offer of eggs or porridge. Rasul found the person who could take me to see ULAK (kok boru) in a village some 80km away. Exciting game - and unusual for a woman to be watching it (I was the only female, treated very kindly and with respect) Rasul's wife sent me some home made dinner when I was late coming in - very kind.

GermanyI would love to have a tea/coffee making set in the room (there were only cups), and the access to the dining room with the tea and coffee machine was not available in the evening. Internet wasn't very fast.
A nice hostel, well located, very nice personel. Quite nice design, and good breakfast.

It’s pretty old but functional and clean The rooms aren’t really ideal for group travels though (was in a three bed-room), as the bathroom and the toilet aren’t really well separated and open up on the top to the general room.

GermanyThe old rooms are really old. Wallpaper coming off the wall, shower head falls down. It was less comfortable than expected. I heard the newer rooms are really great!
The bed was super comfortable. Breakfast is really amazing! You can do laundry for a fair price. The room is spacious.

BelgiumToo many stairs. No bottled water available in the large refrigerator in the lobby. We just arrived in Kyrgyzstan and had to look for bottled water in the neighbourhood and had not yet changed money. Impersonal approach.

MyanmarSuggestion to find better solution for mattresses. The one I slept on was really uncomfortable - and I’m not usually that picky about mattresses. A thick foam mat overtop would have solved the issue.
Interesting building, lovely courtyard, had a nice cozy feel to it and was well decorated. Excellent value for money overall.

AustraliaI think there could have been a bit of a bigger/fresher selection for breakfast.
Clean and comfortable place to stay in Osh. Staff were all really friendly and helpful, despite limited English (and our limited Russian!), and helped us with various issues including arranging a shared taxi to Bishkek. Room was good size, comfortable, with A/C and hot water. Breakfast included in the room price which we enjoyed in the nice courtyard/garden. 10-15 minute walking distance to Lenin monument, Russian orthodox church, supermarkets and restaurants. 25-30 minute walk to CBT office, bazaars. 45 minute walk to Suleiman Too viewpoint. Good value for money - accept payment by card as well as cash.

GermanySome of the staff was on the snooty side.
This really was one of the better budget hotels I stayed in in Kyrgyzstan. My room was spacious, quiet and quaintly decorated, with modern fittings in the bathroom/toilet area. Thumbs up for the comfy matress. What I liked best was the garden where you can take tea at really any time of the day. I also enjoyed the many breakfast options. The owner, who is also a guide, gave me with many useful tips how to get around town.

KazakhstanCoffee in the coffee machine was terrible. The shower doesn't have shelves to put staff on (like shampoo or shower gel, for example). It is also very uncomfortable that you have to go out from the shower to take towels, and this area where towels are has no door, so you have to stay nacked and ask your roommate not to watch while covering yourself.
The hotel is very nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a room on the third floor which was cozy and interestingly designed. Breakfast was good enough with a diverse choice. The yard has a nice garden with a small relaxing water-flow. It was also possible to have access to the tea-zone 24/7.
