Beautiful peaceful place to stay with an incredible view. Great location- quiet and relaxing away from the hussle of Ella town however only 10mins walk via railway track to the centre. Clean and comfortable room, good hot water and lovely outdoor seating area with views of Ella rock. Breakfast was fantastic- best we had in Sri Lanka. Hosts were so kind, friendly and helpful with suggestions and recommendations- if you get the chance to stay here I would 100% recommend it for your trip to Ella

We loved our stay at Chamodya and are sad to have stayed only 1 night. The room is very spacious, bed is comfortable and comes with a mosquito net. It's so peaceful, you can chill on the terrace outside and absorb the beautiful view. It's a 10 min walk to the centre of Ella, there's a shortcut through the train tracks. Breakfast was the best we had during our stay in Srilanka with fruits, juice, pancakes, hoppers, dhal, etc. Nilu, the owner, was kind and friendly.

Incredible! Such a beautiful homestay and Nilu is so lovely and kind. The room is huge and has an AMAZING view. The bed was so comfy with the softest bedding, I really had the best sleep here. Breakfast was super tasty and big. Nilu was very welcoming and accommodating. I managed to book it last minute because someone else cancelled, if I had known of this place before I’d stay longer, tried to extend it but it was fully booked!

The view with the waterfall is just stunning! It’s you and the nature and the sound of birds and monkeys. Of course the location is not in the city center but with the motorbike you are there in 3 minutes. Also the host is just very sweet, she woke up earlier to prepare us lunch box for our train ride. The room was big and spacious. Also the accommodation had one of the best WIFI we had in Sri Lanka I could even have teams calls. All in all just amazing!

Sitting on the balcony watching the sunrise over the mountains and Ella rock and listening to the bird life. Being away from the noise of town, but a 10 minute walk with a shortcut along the train tracks. Traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious.

Breakfast was the best I had in Sri Lanka. The location is absolutely stunning, breathtaking. Being on the balcony and witnessing that beauty, the mountains, the waterfall, nature. Just one of the best places I have ever visited in my whole life.

Clean, very big room with AMAZING view. The location was great - just 5-7 min on foot from all the restaurants and bars, and 10 min on foot from the railway station, but still away from the noise and smoke of the city. The only “noise” we were hearing was birds callings and the waterfall. Hot water was available and super delicious breakfast. Lilu and her family are great hosts, we used the laundry service and clothes came back in the evening smelling great. THANK YOU for the wonderful stay!

Would have been an added bonus to have kettle and cups in the room ... but this didn't spoil our stay at all.

Room was a good size and comfortable. View from the balcony was simply beautiful, and changed according to time of day and the weather. Breakfasts were good with decent sized portions. Bathroom was clean and modern. Outdoor seating area both to the side and in front of the room which we regularly used. Our hosts were friendly, communicative and always ready to help. They did laundry for us at a good price and arranged tuktuk transport for our onward journey. A truly lovely stay.

The view from the room was absolutely breathtaking, a great place to chill and admire the nature. Room very spacious and clean. The owner was nice and helpful and prepared us a wonderful breakfast, one of best we had during our holidays in Sri Lanka. Definetely a great place to recommend!

Chamodya Home Stay absolutely exceeded our expectations - 5 mins after my friend and I arrived we had already decided we wanted to stay an extra night. The views are incredible, the tranquility, birdsong and distant sound of the waterfall was so soothing, sunrise is a must see! Our room and en-suite bathroom was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed (including kingsize bed). Lilu is a wonderful host, she and her family cooked us amazing Sri Lankan breakfasts each morning, she was perfectly attentive and spoke good English helping us with recommendations. Perfect location as well - only a 7 min stroll into Ella town. I will absolutely be back here one day!
