A curtain for the shower might be useful. Otherwise it's very difficult to shower without flooding the whole bathroom

Amazing view from the house, the food was delicious, even though it was possible to have dinner only once, and the owner was very kind and ready to help with every necessity. Great value for the price!

Definitely my favourite place to stay in whole Sri Lanka. Owners are just the sweetest people in the world. Room is perfectly clean, you get a soft duvet and bed is soo comfortable. It was such a pleasure to stay in bed when it was raining and just admire the view and sound. Food is also amazing - you get huge, delicious breakfast and in the evenings they serve rice&curry (amazing). I liked the place so much that I decided to extend my stay :) if you are planning to stay here - better book more nights than planned :)

We were extremely surprised by cleanliness of the room along with view from balcony,it was outstanding and we will recommend for everyone to stay there. Breakfast was beautifully served and it was delicious. Owner very polite,kind and helpful by giving loads of helpful tips. Dont get mislead by location of the place as it is very easily to access via train tracks(10min walk to Ella centre) to eat the best curry at Matey Hut.

The Sri Lankan breakfast was the best we had so far! The host was super nice and had very good recommendations for us. The rooms were spacious and clean with an amazing view facing Ella rock. You could walk into the city center by foot and at the same time were far enough away to avoid the noisy and busy atmosphere in Ella. We would fully recommend this accomodation and even prolonged our stay :)))

Our stay here was excellent! we were welcomed with a warm smile and a cup of tea after our arrival. Everything about the place, the owner and the breakfast exceeded our expectations. The view is truly magical, even on a cloudy or a rainy day. The beds are big and comfy, it’s super clean and the food is delicious! It’s been a pleasure staying here and I recommend it to everyone! it’s a real 10/10!

Lovely family, fantastic sri lanka breakfast with fresh fruit and juice every day, and a brilliant location! Couldn't have wanted anything more. There was even a dog to pet and a scenic walk into town via some train tracks.

We think this accommodation is worth more than the asking price. Because of the economic crisis everything became more expensive. A toiletrol for example is almost €1. So, please keep this in mind and don’t bargain. It’s all ready a very fair price for what you get!

The hospitality at Chamodya house was wonderful. The view is lovely and I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the nature in Ella. The hosts provided me with helpful information so I could enjoy as much as possible while in town. The breakfast was delicious and had an amazing view.

Nilu and her husband are lovely hosts. Their homestay is in a quiet location right next to the railway track. You can simply turn right for a 10 minute walk along the track into Ella or 40 minute walk to nine arch bridge. Turning left on the track from Chamodya leads you easily to Ella Rock. The room is big with a very comfortable bed, hot water, fridge and hairdyer! Breakfast is BIG and served on the balcony with a great view and waterfall in the distance. Nilu is so kind and helpful. Highly recommended ⭐️

we had an amazing stay at Chamodya and would recommend it to all travelers out there! the location is perfect! it looks far from the center but it’s a 5 min walk (which is an amazing experience) along the train rails. the view at breakfast is stunning! we wanted to support a local family (not only a big hotel or chain) and would definitely do it again! highly recommended.

This place is a GEM. Firstly location is perfect - close to Ella town and the railway track to go to Ella rock. The rooms are huge and clean and the view from them is unbeatable. The hosts are lovely people who make the best breakfast! Ask for the egg hopper - it’s outstanding. Definitely the best hotel we’ve stayed at possibly ever - such great value for money!

Not a problem for me, but this is not the place for somebody with mobility issues. Steep stairs.

1. Unbelivable view of Ella Gap, Little Adam's Peak, and Ella rock from private balconey. Couldn't be better. 2. Fantastic, ultra helpful staff. Wonderful wonderful family. 3. Easy, level 7-8 minute walk to Ella main street. 4. Super delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. More than I could eat.

Our stay at Chamodya has been absolutely amazing! Lilu and everyone surrounding the place have been extremely kind and helpful all the time. The rooms have been very clean and well equipped. The terrace had one of the most beautiful views we’ve seen in Sri Lanka. The breakfast was the best we had on our trip! The place is located only a 10 minutes walk to the main street of Ella. At night times we preferred a Tuktuk which was about 500 LKR (1,50€). Also, Lilu was so kind to arrange us a Tuktuk whenever we needed one to do activities like a sunrise hike to Little Adam‘s Peak. We can not recommend Chamodya enough and would come again in a heartbeat!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing! Great location, quite and away from the loud towncenter - and it's just a short lovely walk on the traintracks into town. Everything was clean and comfortable. It has the nicest view in Ella too!

Amazing view! The best view we had on our whole trip. Located in a beautiful spot looking over the mountains. The host lady was kind and very attentive. And the room was exactly what we needed from our stay in Ella. Would highly recommend : )
