We had booked 4 rooms for a group of family and friends. There was a problem with each room. Broken shower, telephone not working, TV not working, all bathrooms were dirty filled with cobwebs, spiders, dirt and dust. Other than the beds, the furniture in the rooms were also filled with cobwebs and dust. Breakfast was terrible. The entire hotel needs a good clean.

Location is great and view from the room and pool is great!

Room size and the room airconditioning.

The rooms are small and the air conditioning is quite outdated. The pool is the highlight of the property from where you can see the elephants bathing. The rest is average.

Whilst this Hotel capitalises on peoples fascination with wildlife, it forgets the fundamentals of a hotel. while my room was fine, the waste bin in the bathroom and not been emptied from the previous guest. the swimming pool area and sun loungers are filthy. There is a staircase between reception and the dining/swimming area, in desperate need of cleaning. The Buffet style supper was overpriced and underwhelming, last night at 19:45 I tried to order from the menu and was told I was too late for the item. the restaurant is apparently open until 10. There are endless health and safety issues within the hotel.

My trip was about seeing the Elephants and to that end, the Hotel served its purpose. The deluxe single room I had was ideal and had river views. The staff are lovely

Room was basic but had everything we needed. It did not have UK plug sockets (unlike other Sri Lanka hotels). Waited over 2 hours to check in - in the middle of the night after travelling despite telling the hotel in advance our arrival time (they ensured us we could check in at that time). Security man told us we would have to wait until the manager began his shift to check us in. Would not recommend coming to this hotel straight from the airport if you have a early morning flight. We paid extra for a view of the elephants but it was blocked by a tree and could only be seen from the balcony (which you're told not to go on otherwise bugs will get in).

The Staff were helpful and happy to help. We had a medical incident during our stay and they helped us a lot with providing information and a driver to take us to the hospital. The driver provided by the hotel was a great help. We also had an issue with bugs in the room (no fault of the hotel as we left the balcony door open) and they got rid of them straight away and changed the bedsheets.

To reach our room we had to go via wedding hall, and there was a wedding going! Nice experience for us, but not for everybody :-)

Best place to whatch elephants taking bath in the river. Nice point to make pics. It starts at 10 a.m., but I recommend you to take a bed near swimming pool a bit earlier. However, despite of weekend, swimming pool has not been overcrowded at all.

Very dirty room, the floors are probably never cleaned. The water pressure was poor and it wasn't hot, rather warmish. You can only check in after 4pm, as it's situated inside the sanctuary and you need to pay 3000 pp to get in before that time. Before 4 pm there are only 2 cafes opened in the town.

The location is great, but elephants don't cone as close as on pictures. You need to zoom to take good pictures. And those photos of swimming in the pool with elephants on the background - this is not going to happen, and the elephants are really far from this hotel. Maybe it was not the right season, idk.

outside the hotel we found the guards a little unfriendly in the street and the businesses the most pushy in srilanka. for us. inside it is not used to having western tourists so the food wasnt great, but for what it costs and where it is what can you expect need better sun beds or to just clean and fix existing ones

You cant beat the location for watching the elephants bathing. The pool was also in a great spot as was our balcony in the king room

Dinner only had set menu and not many varieties to order. Had mixed fried rice which is not tasty and barely using meats and veggies.

Great dining options except dinner. breakfast and lunch is really good had so many varieties. Amazing hotel with friendly staff
