Steep stairs to upper floors and the roof terrace where breakfast is normally served. One elderly member of our party had breakfast in the comfortable lobby to avoid the stairs, and the staff was very happy to serve her there.

Location was great. Staff was outstanding and made us feel like old friends. Otman was extremely helpful and really went out of his way to make our time in Fez wonderful. He also coordinated daily tours and taxis for us. Would definitely stay here again. We recommend Dar Borj very highly.

Not a dislike, but info for other travellers - lots of stairs to rooms on higher floors, and also up to the terrace.

This was a beautiful riad, located in the medina, a few minutes walk from the Bab Boujloud Gate. We were met by a staff member at the gate and directed to the riad, as well as assisted with our bags. The staff were exceptional (Otman and unfortunately I did not get the name of the other man). The room/suite was beautifully decorated and spacious, with a double bed and loft with single bed (3 adults). The terrace was lovely, with the dining area attached to the terrace and complete with panoramic windows. Breakfast was outstanding, with a good variety and tasty breakfast foods. We were offered dinner but declined as we chose to eat outside the riad.

It's always tricky navigating large luggage items up the stairs in a riad, and this was no exception. Glad we were just on the second floor! But this is just the nature of staying in a riad, of course.

The property was beautiful, and it had a lovely rooftop terrace -- partly open, and partly enclosed where breakfast was served. The service was excellent, and the overall experience was great. Breakfast was also really good.

Staff was super nice. Ottoman came to the blue gate to greet us and helped us with luggages. He and his colleague were very friendly. The room was clean. We stayed two nights and their housekeeping was very good. Breakfast of both days were delicious. Ottoman also helped me booked a private tour to Chefchaouen, Rabat and Casa. The tour was fantastic. Highly recommend this hotel for families.

The Riad is located in the heart of the medina and just few minutes walking distance from The Blue Gate. We stayed in Rate Dar Borj for 2 nights in Feb 2024. I cannot say enough about the hospitality here. The staff were professional, patient and helpful, they were all ready to go out of their way to make your experience excellent. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Don't forget to see the sunrise view at the rooftop terrace to enjoy the declious breakfast. Highly recommend this place to anyone who are staying in Fez. 10/10

The staff Otman is very helpful and hospitable. He is very polite and takes care of everything from picking us up from the cab and arranging a guide and restaurants. Since my departure was early in the morning, he let me take breakfast with me. This kind of heartwarming service is a wonderful memory of my trip.

The host and all the staff where just amazing. So warm and welcoming. The host in particular went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Thanks again for the experience dear man. The location is excellent, close to everything you’ll want to see, the host arranged for a guide for us who I couldn’t praise enough. One of the best tours ever, and I’ve done a lot of them. The breakfast and afternoon lazing on the rooftop terrace were so good. Not to mention the sunrise and the sunset.

We love our hotel stay. The staff speaks excellent English and treat you like family. Staff are very considerate, great breakfast, beautiful view from the terrace. Best to pay cash to save the hotel fees.

The riad exceeded our expectations and was even better than the pictures. We stayed in three different rooms during our stay and each one was perfect in its own way. The staff went out of their way to make our trip a success, especially having thoughtful and delicious gluten free breakfast and a dinner we requested. Cannot recommend this riad enough.

The terrace was a nice place to begin our day for breakfast. It has air conditioning/heater glass enclosures to allow for comfortable seating, and still be able to enjoy the nice panoramic view. We also relaxed there in the afternoons and nights after a busy day touring Fes. The staff, Otman and Abdul, we’re the best!

Thanks a lot to Uthman & Ali for being very helpful during our stay. We felt very welcomed from the moment we walk through the door till the day of check-out. Room was comfy, the heater works well, hot shower works well, and the best of all, the toilet comes with a hose (huge plus!). Breakfast on the terrace was delightful. The riad is beautiful! Location is central to food, markets & all the tourist attractions. Pleasant stay!
