There is absolutely nothing to dislike. I can’t rate this place highly enough.

The staff are warm, friendly and helpful. the location is perfect. The single rooms are huge and super clean. The towels and sheets and bed is magic. There are a number of outdoor spaces and terraces with views. They provide a huge and amazing breakfast.

The staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. The room and facilities were fabulous and we were so pleased to have a fire lit in the room with the colder evenings. The breakfast was all delicious and fresh, served on the roof terrace, overlooking the town and the sea, it couldn’t be better. If we went back to Essaouria we would definitely be staying again at Riad Watier.

A warm welcome with a glass of wine. Recommendations for dinner - tables booked. Kind and generous staff. Hyatt and Fatima were so professional and gracious. Breakfast = Freshly made pancakes, lots of lovely jams, yoghurt and fruit, plenty of coffee. All served on the top terrace and available up to 11am too. We ate in one evening by the fire in the dining room - sharing the most amazing fresh fish caught that day. A truly lovely meal, good wine and fabulous ambiance.

Nothing. Few tips instead for the locale - if you make your own way there do use a porter to take your bags from the Medina entrance - they will take you straight to the Ryad. When we arrived it was already mid afternoon- we spent too long unpacking and then found most of the good restaurants are closed between lunch and dinner service - so plan around this! It can be quite windy.

Everything. Beautifully presented Ryad. Our room was just perfect in terms of size, layout and comfort. Decor throughout was fabulous and interesting. Above all the staff go above and beyond. Reviews read before we came were all very positive but it is not until you stay here that you can really experience what other guests mean - it is a home from home. We got to know the all female staff well and also the guests, many of whom return year after year. Hayat and Fatiha were fantastic and interesting meeters and greeters. Our communal dinner was amazing - thanks to Gaby the cook. And thanks to all the other staff. We also had an amazing time in the hamman and spa for a massage. If we could give 11 out of 10 we would! We will pass the word on to our family and friends to come visit.

I think I read some reviews mentioning this prior to my booking, but the mattresses are definitely on the firmer side, which isn't for everyone. And this is an extremely minor point, but you can't adjust the angle of the chaise lounges on the rooftop terrace--they're great for sunbathing but it's hard to read comfortably at that angle. The fact that these are the only things that come to mind, I hope, speaks volumes to the overall quality of the experience you'll have here.

There are lots of reviews already in praise of this riad, and all I can say is that my experience absolutely matched them. The house is gorgeous and everything about the space and the rooms is meticulously curated, from the selection of jams at breakfast to the in-room decor (my room was decorated as an homage to the French long-distance sailor Eric Tabarty). Hayat is a treasury of information on the local area and a wonderful host, and the location itself couldn't be more perfect--a quiet square just off a main medina street, with rooftop views of the ocean and seagulls and waves as a constant soundtrack everywhere on the property.

We honestly loved everything.

Great value for money and design! I don't think that there is another property in Essaouira that matches the quality (comfort, decor, convenience of location, breakfast and staff) and price of this place. Absolutely recommend! Including the hammam!!! :)

From now on we are going to have to get hotels with fireplaces in the bed rooms. Nothing!!

This is the place to stay in Essaouira! Our taxi from the airport was organised for us including someone with a cart to carry your bags through the winding narrow streets to your hotel. The staff are what make this place exceptional. They will look out for you and make sure you are cared for. Their recommendations were perfect, we are at two fantastic restaurants and we followed their suggested 'things to see and do' on the map, and we had the best time. From the chaos of the fish market in the morning to the beautiful views off the high walls overlooking the sea. It was the perfect introduction to Morocco. Also if you are slightly nervous about visiting Morocco after reading some of the things online, don't be. The staff at the hotel really put us at ease and made us feel welcome, they will make sure you know good prices so you don't get ripped off. If we come back to Morocco we will be staying here again.

Nothing to dislike.

A beautiful little tucked away gem. The riad is so peaceful with wonderful artwork on every wall. Hyatt & the other ladies we met were very kind & so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious & served on the roof terrace with a sea view. Our bedroom was stunning, the decor & quality of the linen were second to none. A wonderful feature was the fireplace which was lit each evening. We also requested a single room, this turned out to be a brand new room, completed in time for our stay. A beautiful feminine room, an addition to the existing single room on a different floor. Amazed that they would go to such trouble for us, but that sums up these great people.

room was a bit cold at night (winter time) - but that got immediately taken care of by heating the cozy fire place and two extra electrical heaters brought to the room, so actually nothing to complain about.

Lovely riad with amazing atmosphere, friendly and accommodating host and staff. Eclectic art and decorations. Our room included a fireplace which they set each night. Lovely rooftop for relaxation and soaking up some sun as you listen to the waves and seagulls.

We never met such a hospitality. We arrived a bit late and hosts provided some fruit snacks and drinks absolutely for free. They set a fire in a fireplace and we felt like home. At night was very quiet, neither muezzin songs no traffic noise. The traditional Moroccan breakfast serves in a rooftop with a sea view. Very romantic.

the courtyard could feel a little dark and cool at times but this would be great at a hotter time of year!!

The riad had lovely big rooms, the staff were so helpful and always ready to guide to new experiences, and good restaurants! breakfast on the roof was lovely, Gabriel, Christine, Hayat and Fatiha all spoke excellent English, we watched World Cup football with everyone in the library! and my 92 year old father was always well looked after by them. And everyone staying there returns!!

Everything was superb and I have no complaints.

The breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious and fantastically decorated. It was a real gem and I didn't want to leave! The staff was happy and welcoming, as were the owners, Gabriel and Christine, who made me feel at home. One couldn't ask for a better location than Ryad Watier. All in all, this was a great hotel experience.

Ryad Watier is a very welcoming property - the rooms are spacious and comfortable with a huge shower area. The place is decorated with fabulous artworks, Moroccan furniture and rugs. Breakfast is enormous and served on the rooftop which has a small view of the ocean.

Owner graciously provided a room upgrade immediately upon my arrival due to temporary morning construction going on outside my originally booked room. Owner also provided a map and showed me around the area along with recommendations for restaurants and landmarks for sightseeing. Staff was also very friendly and hospitable, offering recommendations for local events and lunch suggestions. Traditional Moroccan breakfast was delicious with an ocean view from the terrace. Location of the property is prime - only a couple minutes walk from the ramparts/port and maybe 10-15 minutes to the beach. Super happy with my stay and would recommend to everyone.

The Riad is filled with natural light. Beautiful art everywhere and cheerful, accommodating staff were on hand to ensure our stay was completely comfortable. Gabriel, our host, was friendly and very helpful with recommendations. our room was large, beds very comfortable. This Riad truly deserves its high rating. It was a pleasure staying here.
