Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only negative is that there isn’t an elevator so you do have to carry your luggage up stairs.
This is such a beautiful place. I love the jungle vibes on the main level where the restaurant is. The food was delicious. It’s very clean and beautifully designed. The grocery store across the street was very convenient! You can definitely walk around and find things places to shop and eat. The staff was very pleasant as well.

United StatesOur room was advertised as having a washer in unit, but it did not have one. The mini fridge in room would freeze our food solid, even when we adjusted the temperature and the freezer was unusable due to it being full of ice, needed to be defrosted. Every single day of our 10 day stay, the water was shut off mostly at night, between 8-9PM to 4-6AM. However, the last two days it was shut off during the day hours as well. The hotel did not communicate this whatsoever, they claimed it is out of their control, since the water company is the one who shuts it off and did not offer details or solutions. The last day of our stay, they offered us a jug of water to shower with and said that these were available to guests whenever needed if the water was shut off, but they failed to communicate this, we just found out by chance.
The hotel itself was clean, cozy, lots of greenery, and was quiet. The restaurant was delicious, but they close both Sundays and Mondays. The staff was friendly and the location is close to a supermarket and shops. The terrace suite was very spacious and nicely decorated. The AC worked perfectly.

CanadaNot the hotels' fault - but if you're there on a Sunday everything is closed so make sure to figure out dinner plans beforehand!
Has everything you need - wifi, comfort and safety. Staff were great, let me check in early and easily extended my stay. Also have luggage storage. The atrium/garden in the middle of the hotel is so cool and relaxing - be sure to check out the bookshelf downstairs.

United StatesIt's in a fairly congested area of town with small alleys. Parking isn't hard to find but you just have to circle the block a few times. No elevators.
Very central location to Marigot Harbor, clean facilities, overall a minimalist, nice, clean room. The breakfast is pretty decent and includes croissants and assorted pastries.

AustraliaNo-one was at reception to meet us & let us into the hotel at our arrival time that we had advised. It was a Sunday but we arrived around 5pm, so not too late. There was a phone number to call but we didn't have roaming on our phones so we couldn't call. Another arrival let us in to the property & they had called the hotel number & were advised someone would come in 45- minutes. They did eventually arrive & check in went smoothly.
Nice space in apartment, very clean & great location. Bakery & small supermarket across the road & plenty of free street parking out front. Restaurant at hotel (We never ate there as we were out early & home late with day trips) but it looked good.

GermanyThe kitchen in our room would need some more equipment to really cook a meal there, so we decided not to use it and just explore Marigot and its beautiful restaurants and cafés. The TV could not connect with Netflix because their wifi doesn‘t just have a password but also a username. But as I said, Marigot has so much to offer that you don‘t want to watch TV anyways ;)
The hotel‘s name is not a lie - it is really in the center of the beautiful little town Marigot. We loved it there! Staff was super friendly and English speaking. Nice restaurant in the atrium, breakfast and food menu looked good, I just had coffee there though. We stayed for two nights and would have extended our stay if they weren‘t fully booked. Would definitely book there again! Check out Crêperie Ti-Breizh and restaurant So Benedict on the same street. There‘s also a supermarket just on the opposite site. For dinner I would recommend Be Kool at the marina or Le Marocain close to the main bus station. Perfect and CENTRAL location!

United StatesNo elevators so we had to lug our heavy suitcases to the top floor.
The staff was super friendly and accommodating. They recommended an AMAZING place for dinner called La main à la pâte.... food was excellent! Room was nice, updated, comfortable and great views. The whole vibe and decor of the hotel and sitting areas were amazing. We arrived at night so we had no idea how busy the day time hours could be. The next morning we realized we were in the centr' of everything...lol!
