Surrounding area near the hotel is dirty, many rubbish on the walkway and on the street, need local authority to clean up surrounding area and brighten up the area with more lights and create better environment for tourist. Room is ok but the bed / mattress is not so comfortable / is hard.

Good location, at the town area and next to shopping mall, many food stall and restaurant near the area. Breakfast is ok and could be better with more varieties. Rooms is clean and with a very nice sea view.

Room does not have a fridge even though it was listed as having one. The air con was noisy and not that cold. Bed was comfortable but pillows were too hard. We did hear some some street noise.

Location is great - within walking distance to many local restaurants and shops. Breakfast was good with lots of variety. Check in was efficient and professional.

We couldn't check in on arrival, but the staff were kind and allowed us to store bags in a secure room. We had an issue with the room not locking, but staff helped us to resolve this ASAP and upgraded our room. Some minor English language problems with front desk, but staff in general very friendly and helpful!

A nice, clean hotel in Sandakan in a good location on the seafront and by the mall. Good self serve laundry nearby. Attached restaurant had good food options at good prices and a very decent breakfast included. Loved that they provide glass bottles of filtered water rather than plastic and you can refill your own water bottle-good to see a push for more sustainable options in Borneo! Staff, particularly security and store staff were very friendly.

Rooms were a bit on the small size. Bathroom door was loud when opening or closing. No soundproofing between rooms as building is a bit older. Chose this hotel because it was waterfront, and not having been to Sandskan before did kot know how disgusting the water pollution is.

The location was central to downtown area on the water. Room was a fair size, not large but okay. Hotel had lots of security. A small coffee bar and restaurant were attached to the hotel. We didn't use the restaurant but the coffee bar was good. Lots of shops and eateries nearby. Able to store luggage while trekking.

There should be some small carpet outside the bathroom to wipe off wet feet. Bathroom a bit smelly like frog pond. Not sure where the smell coming from on the 1st day we checked in. After 2nd day a bit better after we took a bath in it 🤣🤣

I like the location. Just next to Harbour Mall. If you are driving. Can park your car safely overnight at the mall depending on the rate. The room has good aircon, strong water pressure and netflix tv.

At breakfast, the coffee and soup were look warm. you need to get the staff to put more meths in the burners underneath to warm them up.

There is a taxi booth inside the airport to get a ticket for the 30 minute drive to the hotel. The hotel does not serve alcohol but there is the Harbour Bistro Lounge (Bistro 88) south west along the front about 100m where you can get a beer and good food. There is also Balin Roofgarden Bistro and Bar which serves good food and lots of drinks. This bar is on the 7th floor up a lift in a plain building. I will add a picture of the front of the building so you can find it.

Nothing much to do in the surrounding local area. Luckily using grab to go around was very convenient and cheap so that is not a problem.
