As lovely as the building is - the stairs need to be looked at as they need some repairing, there’s in step that actually seems to be coming loose so could become dangerous. Would also be good to have hooks or something in the rooms as there is no where to hang towels.

The staff were very friendly upon checking and showed me about the hostel. It’s a very old building, so has a lovely rustic feel to it and feels more homely compared to ‘modern’ hostels. The location is perfect - so close to the main sights to see and only a few steps away from bars and restaurants

Reception staff not particularly helpful. Inquired about the ferries, was told he doesn't know, then casually went on playing on his mobile phone. No effort was even made to assist me. He just stayed seated on the couch all nice and comfortable.

There is coffee and tea served as complimentary as mentioned on announcement notification in the room. The owner must renew the notification.

No place to hang towel and clothes in the room. Will be good to install some hooks or hangers on the wall next to each bed.

Took a bed in a 6-bed room. Aircon works well in the room. There's a personal locker to use. Bedside light and power socket were useful.

The staff is nor at the reception all day. In the middle of the day if u arrive, wait to check in they have a break. The walls are very thin, and you can hear people talking in next door.

Centrally located right in the middle of George Town, and away from street noise. Staff was helpful. Next to 7 eleven there is a bus stop and u can take any bus to bus station, and take bus 401/401E to Airport for only 2r, it take 45 min to get there.

The wood stair. It should be fixed as there were some flats might be annoying when people go up or go down. I couldn’t sleep well when heard the noise.

Very old building

Rapid bus is just near the hostel and it is very cheap, but you have to spare much tima because the bus is too slow to get arround. Penang also has a free bus, called cat bus to go to Komtar (central bus station to go anywhere). Ferry to go and back Buttonworth from Penang Port also was free when I wad there..so far this hostel is good as your choice to enjoy Penang in every aspect.

It would of been great if the bunk beds in the shared rooms had small curtains to close to have some privacy. Some of the reception staff, not all, were not helpful with organising taxis and recommendations.

The beds were very comfortable, the showers were spacious and clean. Was a quiet hostel to get that much needed rest and excellent location to walk to restaurants and bars.

Waited an hour to check-in. Understand receptionists need to break too but an hour waiting time seems a lil too long.

Not much, you can’t check in until 3pm as there is no one there. The toilet/bathroom upstairs is a bit weird.

Property is in a great location, it’s clean and good for a few nights stay. Not the most social hostel but it depends what you want.

Be careful to close all your staff in the lockers, as I was stolen my money from my bag in the dorm. No curtains in the dorm's beds.

The dorm was comfortable, with aircon, so were the common areas, water heater is available and cups for breakfast. The staff is helpful and kind. Drinking water and fridge available. Lots of options for eating in the area, quite animated. A free bus from the ferry to the main bus station then another free bus to a street neat the hotel are available.
