Only buffet dinner offered both nights we were there. No a la carte available. Some simple meals should be provided for guests who find one plate enough. We had to drive out to find meals elsewhere which we had not intended doing.

No bug nets in the hut, basicly open straight out to the insects. And if you miss the lunch buffet its not possible to get food until dinner. Had to go to service station to buy some snacks to survive..

The beachside bungalow was stunning and spacious and well worth the additional cost. A lovely beach with safe swimming and also a beautiful swimming pool. The Saturday night buffet was exceptional with a wide variety of fish dishes. Sunday was pizza night from the outdoor pizza oven. There are a few small eating places in town and an excellent bakery. A great base from which to explore the north. And no insects!

If you have your own transport, then Hotel Tieti is ideal for a relaxing break. However, you should not rely on the bus service. While catching the bus from Noumea wasn't a problem, catching the bus back was extremely stressful because if you miss it or it bypasses you (as it did for a fellow passenger the previous day because the bus was full) you could be stranded there for another day or two as there is only one bus a day. Luckily, there were three seats left for the three of us. We got back to Noumea and were able to get our flight the following day. What a relief! While it wasn't deliberate, check you bill carefully; we had been charged for breakfast x 2persons and dinner x 2 persons that we didn't have,

The hotel's position on the beach was lovely and our garden room was delightful. The Saturday night banquet was extensive and of good quality. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful.

Hotel Tieti is located on a beautiful sandy beach with swimming in the ocean very easy and quite safe. Our bungalows were right on the beach with a very nice sundeck. The rooms were great with everything you would expect. The restaurant was good and I had a tasty hamburger for lunch when we arrived. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful.

A bit more information about excursions . Disappointed the opportunities for snorkelling the reef were a bit limited.

At night the rooms, which have vaulted ceiling's and lots of dark woods could seem a bit gloomy. Despite a promising- looking wood fired oven, the pizza served was dire - floury and dry base, with an overcooked top. Didn't see the standard rooms, which are in a separate block.

Spacious bungalow are inspired by traditional NC hut design, with a vaulted ceiling. The second row tropical bungalows (the top price rooms are right on the beach) are well spaced in semi-detached units connected with each other and the restaurant/pool area by boardwalks on stilts. There are louvred panels instead of windows to let breeze and light in. Sliding sliding glass lead to a large patio. Friendly and informal staff.

The pool was empty for maintenance but that is understandable. Just bad timing for me.

The walking deck from the room to reception is a little old and it feels like one could fall through it at times. There was sometimes a funny smell in the bungalow bathroom, but it didn’t reach the bedroom.

A great stay, lovely staff, great meals in the evening, very nice bungalow looking onto the bay. Enough electricity plugs and a desk to be able to work comfortably.

We ate at the restaurant both nights we stayed at Tieti and were happy with the food on both occasions. The first night buffet was particularly good. We had a beach front bungalow which was very spacious and comfortable with a nice verandah looking onto the beach. Sound of the waves, very tranquil.

Couldn't swim at the beach, told it was too dangerous. Pool over crowded and even warmer than ocean. Didn't like you having your own food in the rooms.

Hotel Tieti has a 1980s vibe, it's a little run down. The food was ok, but not brilliant. We accidentally broke a bottle of wine in our room and cleaned it up as best as we could, however there were a few small shards of glass left. We apologised and asked for housekeeping to come and sweep up the last shards, but they never came.

Hotel Tieti is well located on a beautiful beach. We wanted to see Poindimie and we did some lovely drives and swimming in waterfalls while there. Nice swinging chairs overlooking the beachfront and a reasonably sized pool. Good bar with nice alcoholic and non-alcoholic options and friendly and helpful waitstaff.
