Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe staff had us wait twenty minutes until 3:00 check in time, when it seemed as if there were plenty of rooms available for our stay. Found that odd. I just didn't find them very friendly or accommodating - as you would normally expect at a hotel. Room was hot and couldn't figure out how to work the air conditioning. With the windows open, and being so close to the train, even on the eleventh floor was very noisy all night long.
Bed was comfortable and the shower was nice

United KingdomReception was on the 12th floor. The signage for the hotel from outside the building was very poor. I found it very difficult to find the lift to reception. From reception check in I was told to go down to floor 10 then take another lift to floor 11?

United KingdomThe pillows felt a bit cheap unfortunately. Not much time to use the wellness facilities, unless you're okay with using them without a swimming costume. Vending machine didn't have stock at the time of the drinks we wanted.
The hotel was very close to the train station, and so it was easy to get into the main cities. Staff were friendly and helped us with storing our bags. The room was clean and stocked with plenty of towels. The hotel was only a short walk away from the city centre.

CanadaNo door to the bathroom, just a sliding glass door between toilet and shower. No privacy so it wouldn't be good for sharing rooms.
Location, literally next to the train station. Good breakfast and restaurant with an amazing view of Leiden. Very helpful staff. Huge room compared to other hotels. Coffee & tea in the room.

BelgiumI didn't expect the room to have a glass wall on the corridor, hence you had to choose between no privacy or no natural light. The sheets and the towels had a bad smell. The mattress was uncomfortable.

BelgiumExpensive, breakfast very limited for the price, in a building with multiple business hard to notice. Access to pool is limited from 8 to 9am to guests, not really mentioned beforehand.

CanadaThe two chairs in the living room were not that comfortable but a minor detail.
Great location next to the train station. Walk out the back (farthest away from Albert Heijn To Go), turn left and go into the nearest large building, into lobby and take elevator to 12th floor for check in. Check in is 3 pm or later, early check-in may be possible for a 25 Euro charge. We stored our luggage instead and came back after 3. We had a view of train station and lines with only little sound. We had a Suite (1 bedroom with door), 2 Tvs, 4 English TV channels. Also, fridge, coffee maker, kettle shower (rainshower type). The room had effective dark, blackout curtains. Soft big bed, but not too soft with thick quilt/blanket which was very warm. Good hotel with great location (near train, buses, 2 supermarkets across from train station, and historic downtown area) and friendly helpful staff and would stay again if in area.

NetherlandsDespite the rate p/night being above average, everything is charged additionally (ex. early checkin, late checkout, baby cot charged p/night etc.). It is also strange that while there is a partial kitchen in the room, there are no kitchen amenities provided. The coffee machine was broken and a replacement was only provided after requesting it repeatedly. 11th floor only accessible from one side of the building, reception only accessible from the other side of the building (two separate elevators/towers), which is not very convenient for checkin/checkout.
The hotel is located right behind Leiden Central Station and has a modern style interior, both in the rooms and hotel itself.

AustraliaGetting in and out are confusing, as there are many doors and elevators around the building, and signage for the hotel is not very clear. The open plan bathroom, while interesting in design, is not very practical, especially the drainage because water will spill out while showering.
Location is very close to the train station and a walkable distance from the city centre, making it a very convenient location especially if you're coming and going by train. The room and beds are also very comfortable, and staff are very helpful.

SingaporeNo air conditioning during our stay though the outside temperature is cold. The room is stuffy but the staff quickly provided a mini fan to circulate the air in the room. The bed is too soft for my preference. I would rate the cleanliness of the room as basic. The configuration of the separate toilet n shower is weird, with only one panel of sliding glass. One more note, there is no separate bottle of shampoo or conditioner but 3 in one, shower gel cum shampoo cum conditioner. Not value for money.
The advantage of the hotel is just next station but on the quieter side (not the exit facing the bus station and the center of the town). The check in service provided at the reception is average but they are prompt to response when needed help even at 2 am when there was cracking sound when the rain hit the window.

United KingdomOur room wasn't serviced on the Sunday. The hotel is adjacent to the railway station but contained over two floors on a large multi-story building, along with other organisations. They don't advertise themselves on the exterior of the building and initially we had problems finding them.
