The stairs were very steep for 70 year olds but with help with our luggage by staff we were able to manage. Front door pad a little tricky but everything’s else was very very good.

The property was well located fairly quiet in the evenings, staff were amazing, the room was big which was great and the bed very comfortable.

The access to the hotel and the room was less than satisfactory. The key pad is in an inconvenient location and did not work at all. It was very frustrating. Other than that it was great.

Beautiful room and location but beware the stairs and doorlocks!

    * The safe in our room was locked by a previous guest and it took 2 days before the owner replaced the safe with one from another room. * The keypad doorlocks were a nightmare. While I got the hang of opening the door to the building, I never got the hang of opening the room door (Studio Runstraat Suite) and my friend had to open it for me every time. * There is no elevator and the stairs are directly in front of the building entrance door and are steep and narrow so you have to be very careful walking up and down them. Taking suitcases up the stairs is very difficult and you will need someone capable of lifting them. Some of the other rooms are up 2 flights of stairs. We met some other guests staying there and they had the same issues with the doorlocks and stairs, however, I still recommend the hotel.

We stayed in the Studio Runstraat Suite and it was incredibly spacious. It is located on the first floor (there are no ground floor rooms) and is simply and nicely decorated with a great bathroom as well. The hotel is in a very beautiful location surrounded by shops, cafes, restaurants, canals and is a 5 minute walk to the Anne Frank House and tram stops and is around a 15 minute walk to the main train station (Amsterdam Centraal) and the red light district. The rooms are tidied up each day which was very nice. We met one of the owners and her doggy and they were both absolutely lovely.

Stairs are slightly steep, so just need to be careful when walking up and down, but have heard this is common in Amsterdam!

Very clean and spacious property. Cute lounge area, comfortable bed, and great shower. Mini fridge was stocked & had a coffee machine with pods. Central area, so easy to get around either by foot or tram. Only 20 min walk from Centraal station.

Street Entry pad needs to be replaced; there was no advance notice on the reservation of the two flights of stairs to get to the suite (more challenging for seniors); received no ADVANCE notification of how to enter the property (we were expecting a Hotel with a reception) so this was surprising upon arrival. Bathroom has no windows and needs more lighting.

    Location, size, layout, convenience, well-appointed

Coming from Canada, we were surprised that the second floor was actually the third floor there. It was a long way up with suitcases, but it did have a very nice view of the street. Also probably quieter.

The room, once we found it, was in a great location. Easy walking distance to everything we needed. It was clean and the staff and owner were fantastic. Would definitely recommend it.

Loved the aesthetic and layout of the space. Updated and clean but not sterile. Included in the stay were drinks in the mjni bar, plus coffee and teapot, which were thoughtful touches. Replenished daily.

You could hear the people in the room above moving around quite clearly-but it is an old house with wooden floors-so rally it was to be expected.

Beautifully located and exactly as it looks in the pictures-spacious, well decorated throughout and completely clean. The room is at the back of the house and therefore very quiet from outside noise. Communication from Merel was excellent and really helpful.

The keypad entry was a bit temperamental + frequent user error on our part too.

The rooms are spacious, stylish with comfy beds and modern facilities including a coffee machine and toiletries. The location in Jordaan is unbeatable as it’s close to everything but in a relatively quiet area with great shops and amenities.

Designer hotel in the heart of the 9 Streets & easy access to the major Amsterdam attractions

The only negatives (and they were minor) were the fact that there was no elevator/lift, so you had to pull your bags up some steep staircases, but not a major issue is you can handle your bags. The keypad/lock system works well once you get familiar with it, but had some issues with how the doorknob and lock mechanism worked initially. Nothing the hotel could do about it, but there was some construction work going on to another house on the block, so we were awoken each morning around 7:30-8am by construction work sounds.

Great location in the heart of the "9 Streets" area (between 2 popular/major canals, with relatively easy access to most of the key activities we wanted to check out (5-20 minute walk to pretty much everything we were interested in). Cool room with very unique design features. Very spacious room with all the basics included/covered and they included the mini-fridge items in the basic room costs (not an additional charge if you grab a drink or 2 from the mini-fridge).

While the AC unit was appreciated, we had to leave a window open for the vent which unfortunately let some mozzi’s in and we were both made a buffet of overnight.

The location was perfect, really lovely area of famous 9 streets. beautiful bridges and that real old amsterdam feeling. The suite was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had very hot weather so a cooling unit in the bedroom was helpful.
