Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceComfortable wooden bunk beds in shared rooms. There is one designated bathroom for each room but it is separated from it; very convenient to keep away from the noise/light in the evening. The terrace and common area is very agreeable, which makes the stay nice both for resting at the hotel and venturing outside. Friendly staff, young and dynamic crew :) Overall, a super hotel, good location and "homie" vibes. Recommend !

MalaysiaIt was not located at the main road and it was in between some alleys. We reached early in the morning when the sky is still dark so it was creepy when we are searching for it but other than that it was totally fine stay for us!
The staff was friendly and they allow us to leave our luggae in their storage lockers in front of their check in counters (you will need to bring your own padlock). Convenient location at the city centre with walkable distance to Alhambra and other tourist attraction spots. Reachable by bus from the Granada Bus Station. Huge lockers are provided underneath the bed but again a reminder to bring your own padlocks.

United KingdomLower bunks are quite low, but it’s not the end of the world. Kitchen facilities are not amazing but still everything you need is there!
The communal Spaces are nice and comfortable, especially the terrace. It has a lovely with the Sierra Nevada in sight - perfect spot on a sunny day. The interior design of the building and the rooms is nice - the rooms feel quite natural and not the typical clinical feel of some hostels. Shower was nice and strong! Free tea! The location was perfect - amongst lovely quaint streets, everything within walking distance.

CanadaThe only downside was the noise. And they don’t seem to have any rules for silent hours and till very late at night people would party and talk loudly.
The location was great in Albaicín and I loved the accommodation with its beautiful architecture and interior spaces, very well decorated, clean, and comfortable.

SpainThe dormitiry bunks have the ladder situated in the centre, so with very little headroom on the bottom bunk, one needs to climb in at one end and caterpillar into a sleeping position. Likewise, when getting out of bed.
Some useful outdoor spaces and communal areas, a well-equipped and spacious kitchen, 24h reception available. Bedside light and power point.

United KingdomThe lockers were hard to open as they were right on the floor so it was hard to drag wood against the ceramic flooring to the point that I couldn't put my stuff inside the locker. Idk if it was just my bed with the really bad locker but yh.. the shower was a bit dirty when I went in this is not the hostel's fault but my bunk buddy was super noisy and was shouting in the middle of the night and even got someone to break her lock at 1 am in the morning...
The location was amazing !!! it was close to most of the historic sites, as well as the local souvenir shops, restaurants, and the famous flamenco venue. Next to everything, and also right next to the bus stop that takes you to the bus station. The staff were super friendly and even offered to give us some recommendations on what we could do that day etc. There's a kitchen where people cook stuff and a fridge and cabinets full of free food The hostel generally looked nice Wifi was fast ngl for the price it is a pretty good hostel if you're just there to sleep was cold at night but you can text reception to turn on the heater

ChileI was afraid to fall from my bed, because my cabin had 30 cm between the bed and the wall.
The hostal is in Albaicín neighbourhood, just in the centre of the city, which is good to walk around.

PolandHostel is very clean and well organised. The stuff was very nice and helpful. Hostel is really close to the old town, that's great. Even if the hostel is close to the old town, the area is not so loud and you can rest with any problems. I really recommend for backpacking travelers
