How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Rooms were very hot and cleaned only on request (which they missed 1 day but didn't seem to care). Gym had old equipment and no aircon so super hot.
Decor and location were great; breakfast was enjoyable too.

Excellent breakfast and as Oslo is expensive, free coffee on tap was a real bonus. The hotel was clean, quiet and the rooms comfortable. The dinners were ‘homely’ but with plenty of different salads, perfectly acceptable and again kept the costs down. Trams and buses at the top of the road so the location was great.

Small room and bed. Lot of light pass through the curtains. During dinner time food finish and people who came after 7pm didnt have anything to eat. It took like 15min or more until they refill the buffet again

No safe in room. We were told,some rooms have safes,others don’t have them. Air conditioning was very unsatisfactory.

The dinner was awful. Wouldn’t recommend. The only tasty thing was bread with butter. There were just one option if a main and one salad.
The building of the hotel is very beautiful! Inside it’s old, but well kept! The rooms are quite stylish, but we expected more comfortable for a 5 stars hotel. Though we liked it.

Our room was a bit dated, it seemed dark, and the view from the window was poor. The evening buffet meal choice was sometimes a bit disappointing. Scaffolding on the building to the front. We used the “Library” for coffee after dinner and it was a nice room but a bit chilly.
The staff were helpful and pleasant. Near to Vigeland Park which was good. In a nice and quiet area of Oslo. Comfortable bed. A good selection for breakfast.

Bed was a little too soft for our liking.
Breakfast and dinner were very good. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Location is also good, a walking distance from the center and the sculpture park.

Service to order extra drinks at dinner was slow.
Food was really good and a good variety at breakfast. Comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern. Nice sauna. Good location short walk to the tram stop.

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location with all of the facilities that I needed for my stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast spread was exceptional and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I will be back.

The night was somewhat noisy, it's easy to hear other guests walk around and talk.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the check in is quick and convenient. There's a lot of tasty choice for meals.

We were paying for two quite expensive rooms but were also charged extra for having another bed for a child. Drinks from the bar were ridiculously expensive... why is this the case in Norway?
The 'Superior Room' booked for our family was a good size and quality, the standard double however was small, very ordinary and too narrow with access to the double bed only from one side...a bit awkward for guests of our advancing years. The food in the dining area was very good at breakfast, but a rather limited choice in the evening. It was all very professionally prepared. There were some pleasant seating areas. Coffee and tea from machines available free, The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
