Great location at the lake, easy to reach but most rooms away from the road with beautiful view. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The rooms were a bit outdated, the window handles seemed to be damaged which made them very difficult to handle. At night a bathroom shelf randomly fell off the wall which woke us up.

Nice location, good restaurant (the vegetarian lasagna was delicious) and friendly staff. Breakfast was good.

A viewing after a 4 hours journey under the rain( on a motorbike!) Wondeful sunset from our room large and clean. Underflor heating perfect for our wet stuff!Tasty food at restaurant and they were willing to find vegetarian options for me.

Our room was old, which is not a problem per se, but certain things, such as the drain outside of the shower... seriously? I am glad I had not put anything on the bathroom floor. I only found out when I was showering. Hotel needs paint, desperately. Still I would recommend for a night.

Finally some semi-hard beds, the first night in two weeks that I didn't wake up with a sore back. Proximity to Kristiansand makes it a logical choice for the ferry to Denmark. Our daughters had a refurbished room with an amazing view. Very nice! Fans in all rooms.

Beautiful location directly on the lake. It feels like every room would have a view. We arrived quite late as we drove up from the ferry arrival at Kristiansand and it was not a problem to check in after hours. Good Scandinavian breakfast spread as well. Perfect little stop on the way to Bergen if you're coming from down south

Spacious and nice decorated room. Windows could open very wide. Very quiet. Beautiful view over the lake. Friendly staf. Very good breakfast. Very good evening buffet. Small supermarket 500m (Co-op, they really sell everything you might need) from hotel.

Spent the night on the way further north, absolutely no complaints.

I don't normally write reviews after just one night's stay, but this place deserves a special attention . The hotel itself is well run and has a good local flair. The distance from the ferry in Kristiansand is perfect for a trip further north. Meanwhile, the surroundings are absolutely gorgeous and the whole thing invites a longer, dedicated stay.

We had a bunk bed for the children, but there was no ladder to the top bunk (so the chair had to function as ladder). That we didn't come in the summer; many things in the surrounding area look like it's great to come here in the summer!

We came in the winter season, and did not necessarily have high expectations from the pictures, but were pleasantly surprised. The view of the surrounding area was great, food was good (they had 3 dinner options, we tried 2 of them and they were good (even the kids liked it)). Breakfast had tasty bread and options. Rooms were nice and warm, little bit dated interior but clean. Bathroom was small but floorheated and comfortable. Beds were fine.

The room we had really needs renovation: - electricity is old (we did not feel very safe with it), hairdryer was antique - we had 2 separate beds in the room, but with different heigths, so placing them next to each other was not comfortable - the lining of the chairs came out - there was a small (old) fridge in the room, but it hardly worked

Family friendly hotel in a superb location. free paddle boats for the kids, can swim in the lake, and nice views all around. The staff were super friendly and relaxed with checkin and checkout times. breakfast was also good, and a healthy start to the day.

furniture overall outdated. common rooms not tidy, full outside ashtrays. dead plants in the gardens and lots of weed. overall the place needs a fresh coat of paint and tidying up.

The room and bathroom was pretty cold as we arrived. I estimated it to some 18 deg. C. It took a while to get the room temperature up. The breakfast was good but the coffee was watery and I would have liked some (any) coffee bread with it.

This is a hotel worth visiting just by its spectacular location by the lake. Well kept garden and the nice interior. Clean room and friendly staff.
