Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Switzerland-
The night in the small wagon was very nice and the "fireplace" has a certain charm. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The small farm with several animals and the possibility to go to the jacuzzi and or sauna is great. You can book rental equipment for a snowshoe hike directly on site. Parking is free of charge. Note that there is no supermarket or restaurant nearby. So you are tied to the accommodation's catering on site. This is very good, but the costs add up!

United KingdomThe wifi didn't reach the other end of our cabin but this didn't bother us/ there was space in the main building where you could use the wifi if needed.
My partner and I loved our stay. It was the perfect escape from the city, it was so quiet and peaceful. We did the activities they have available - snow shoeing, saunas and spa and left feeling so rested. The food was a much higher quality than we expected, definitely restaurant quality and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. All the staff remembered my dietary requirements before I had to say anything - even if I hadn't seen that staff member before. The location is so beautiful and it was just bliss.

SingaporeNothing much to complain about. The location is a little remote, so do pick up snacks beforehand if you are the peckish type.
The property is located on the beautiful island of Sommarøy, about an hour away from central Tromso. If you are not driving, you can call ahead to arrange transport, which is far cheaper than taking a taxi out. The staff are warm and friendly, and were happy to answer all our questions or just chat. The food (which you should book in advance for dinner on the day you are arriving) is traditional Norwegian homecooked fair and absolutely delicious. Breakfast is a simple spread and there are some options for lunch as well. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We made friends with the goats (there were two babies!), sheep (who were very pettable), horses, chickens, rabbits, and the cutest dog and cat. The most beautiful part of our stay? The Aurora graced us with her presence right above our heads on a beautiful clear night sky. I will never forget the sacred silence of this slice of serenity.

United StatesNothing.
Our stay was wonderful and it's less than an hour drive from Tromso. An excellent and quiet location to explore the area. We loved everything about our stay....the location, our room, and the amazing home cooked meals. Meals are served for breakfast and dinner when you order in advance. The owners and staff really take pride in their property and it shows! There is also plenty of room to relax in and around the property. We really enjoyed our time here and hope to return.

FranceThe breakfast didn’t offer much options Be careful with your car, the hotel is on a little hill and we wanted to drop off our luggages and got stuck with the car mid-hill with the ice and snow. We were lucky enough that someone with a truck that worked at the farm saved us ! But it should be maybe mentioned beforehand that you can easily get stuck there.
If you are looking for a calm area near Tromsø : this is the place to go. You must have a car though if you want to explore freely. The rooms are very comfortable with plenty of spaces and offers a great view. We stayed there to get a bit away from the city and get more chances of seeing the northern lights, and on our last night we were able to see a magical show only 1h drive from the hotel, and what a surprise to also get the lights when we went back at the hotel even though the weather forecast wasn’t so good !

United KingdomThis is often a positive but just so people are aware, there is not really any other infrastructure nearby - if you're staying here without a car then you'll be eating all your meals here too, which isn't a bad thing (but can get pricy)! You also pay for everything: borrowing snow poles, snow boots, feeding the animals, etc. Again, that is fair enough, but it might have been a nice touch to allow guests to borrow snow shoes for free, as they aren't in high demand and seem quite low maintenance.
Absolutely stunning place, very secluded and peaceful with tasteful decor and a cosy but modern feel. The dining room and living room with big windows and a view over the sea and mountains are spectacular! They offer a range of great experiences and delicious food, and all the staff are helpful and friendly. The farm animals are very cute and there is even a dog, cat, and rabbit in residence! Absolutely recommend this place as an escape in an other-worldly landscape.

United StatesThe huge step icy hill you had to climb up after parking at the bottom of it to get to the top where the resort is. You’d slip and slide down it. To avoid that, you have to climb through snow that goes above your knees. They should really implement an easier walkway/steps that they upkeep for guests.
We LOVED the lodge area and how homey it was! You take your shoes off at the door and just get comfy cozy in the quaint space where you can see the water across the way. Then there’s an upstairs lounge where you can bring the most AMAZING carrot cake up there and just read or do work or whatever while you overlook the water and mountains. It’s quite majestic and charming. Then on our final night to commemorate the whole trip, the northern lights appeared for us right at the resort! Our stay here was remarkable and magical.

GermanyThe breakfast portions were very small, and there were limited options. Though I understand that snowy boots could ruin and mess up the wood floors, it was a little inconvenient to keep removing shoes everytime we entered!

Yggdrasil farmhotel was gorgeous, the rooms were clean as was the main dining area and the separate reading space. It was the perfect get away and exactly what we wanted. We went on multiple activities they had to offer such as the ice swimming and the Northern light cabin walk, both which we absolutely loved, the guides were really friendly and the activities were worth the prices. We easily got there from Tromso Airport on the 420 bus, as the stop is right outside the hotel All the staff were so friendly and happy to accommodate any request We had breakfast everyday which was toast, jams, fish, eggs and tea and coffee, lunch and dinner were also great. I told them i was vegetarian beforehand and was happy with the food I was served
