Great location, great rooms and lovely welcoming atmosphere! We spent alot of time with Bamdev planning our trekking route (we had no idea what to do for the trekking so it was so helpful to sit down and plan with the hotel owner). We were given the best trekking guide, Bishnu - ask for Bishnu if you are going trekking! He took us to ABC and Mardi Himal Base Camp, we had the best time ever and the trek definitely made our Nepal trip!

This hotel has comfortable spacey rooms and attached bathrooms for a low price. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They can provide you with various services like storing your luggage, buying your busticket and giving you trekking advice and they have a good and cheap laundryservice. Moreover, the hot shower is really hot. We used this hotel as our base for in between trekkings and rafting. It was always an excellent place to come back for. It is conveniently situated in the middle of the tourist area at Lakeside Road. Therefore I highly recommend this excellent place.

My partner and I visited Hotel Diplomat while touring Nepal on our motorcycles. Our stay exceeded our expectations, we were warmly greeted by Bamdev our host, who is a wonderful man with a good sense of humour and a great deal of local knowledge. Our stay was very comfortable; the room was clean and spacious, the private washroom had plenty of hot water, the location was ideal, and the laundry service was prompt and professional, we also very much enjoyed the breakfast prepared by Bamdev. Many thanks to our host and his family, we highly recommend a visit!

We had a great stay at diplomat hotel! We will cherish the positive vibe at the hotel, the many conversations with the hotel owner and his family, and the sunny moments on the rooftop! We stayed much longer than initially planned and almost started to feel at home :-)

The owner of the hotel so was incredibly friendly and helpful. He gave us advise on permits and taxis and even runs his own cooking classes. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to do the cooking classes but they sounded great! Rooms were clean and tidy and had everything we needed. It was great value for money and they even got our laundry done before we went on our hike.

The host and his family is super nice and will do his best to fulfill all your questions and desires. Even though we had a little problem with the first room they immediately switched it to another one which was super value for money.

Sometimes the loud music from the bars outside might play until very late hours, so make sure to bring earplugs in case you have sensitive sleep.

Nice hotel and helpful owners who will take care of all your needs and give advice about attractions, food, trekking. They can also organize everything. The rooms are clean and spacious, has tables to work on a laptop, always has hot water, laundry services, and balconies/terraces for drinking coffee and relax etc'.
