The only parts that could be considered negatives were the parking situation was quite tight, which means reversing out of the driveway, however the quiet road means that it is relatively easy to depart in this fashion. We also had some difficulty with the wifi connection and it's stability, it had minimal effect on us as we did not have a significant amount of time in the room as we were enjoying the sights of Kaikoura and the surrounding area.

The Hamptons was a wonderful place to spend an evening, and due to it's location we wish we could have stayed for longer. The location was easy to find and is a chic and well maintained building right at the waterfront in Kaikoura. The room we were provided was large, well appointed and had all the necessities for a short stay in Kaikoura, with gracious hosts who are happy to provide recommendations for activities and places to have a great meal. We enjoyed the comfort offered by the room and the view from the bed and the verandah alike were beautiful, particularly given that it is an east-facing property with uninterrupted water views. The bed in the room was very comfortable allowing a wonderful nights rest, and the provision of the kettle, and coffee machine (nespresso) was very welcome for a cool evening. The morning breakfast was very welcome, and prepared us well for the day ahead, with all requests being catered to and wonderful conversation with our hosts about the area and the history.

Our host Patrick was super, lovely guy with a wealth of helpful information and recommendations. As we had a very early departure time, Patrick provided a breakfast tray the night before. Our room was great, particularly liked the fact that we had our own door directly onto the Esplanade.

Lovely b&b over the road from the beach, waking up to the view of the bay was just perfect. A little way out of the town but easy walkable. Once checked in, the room was accessed from the bifold doors, enabling you to keep yourselves completely separate from the house. Very comfortable space and very clean. Breakfast next morning was mainly continental but very nice and plenty of it, Patrick you and your wife have a lovely home, thank you for being great hosts - wished we would have had a little more time as we would have loved to have stayed another night to enjoy Kaikōura a little more.

The breakfast was great. If you have an early start as we did one morning, Patrick brought us a lovely tray of goodies the night before. On our second morning breakfast was served upstairs with fabulous views and great conversation.

We truly enjoyed everything of our stay. We were travelling by car, but in case you don't, there is a 20min walk to the more commercial part of town on one side, and to one of the main pub/restaurants on the other.

The apartment is cozy and nice, with an independent access. The hosts are very lovely. We particularly enjoyed the continental breakfast, that deatures an amazing freshly ground coffee and home made marmolade!

Perhaps replace the roman blind in the window facing out to the other properties. We kept the blind down the whole time for privacy.

The location was terrific with beautiful gardens to the rear of the property. Our room was spacious and there was nothing that we needed that wasn't provided.
