I would suggest to make a box to drop off keys, who is checking out early morning, as reception is closed. Also the territory is closed over the night, I would add a note what to do in case to open the gate. Also the road - road up to the mountain is good, but have a part around 5-6km off road. this is missing in description. Just for warning for those who travel with small cars , or totally new (to not worry about some damages from off road rides)

the territory of the hotel, view, facilities are exceeded our expectations. the hotel is little old, but very good to stay. they provide buffet dinners with variety dishes even for vegan (lots of meat as well). the rooms are like little houses, with private outdoor area where you can place the fire and do your own barbecue. Near the great spots for views and beautiful pictures. Fantastic sunset, sky at night with stars, sunrise!

More vegetarian options are needed in the menu.

Nestled on the top of the mountain with panoramic views and in the midst of nature. Quaint rooms with the right amount of privacy. The resort is spread out and a guest can enjoy nice long walks inside the property. The adventurous can explore and trek outdoors.

The bed covers were a bit thin for winter time, it got really cold in the room during the night.

Perfect location after hiking in the area if you don't want to camp. Dinner and breakfast were very good and filling, and included in the room price.

Very low doorway to enter bathroom with no warning sign. Anyone above 5"8" would hit their head.

Good location, 5-10min drive from Balcony Walk (which is worth doing!). Breakfast and dinner were both good. Room was both big and comfortable. Nice sunset from the resort grounds. Amazing drive to the resort, although much easier in a 4x4.

The restaurant was almost to small for all the guests, or all guests were hungry at the same time?

Very nice bungalow. Be there before sunset to enjoy from the topspot in resort.

Wifi was sporadic and mostly didn't work.

The location was really easy for us to reach the Balcony Walk which is the famous hike in Jebel Shams. It was also a very short distance from a viewing plateau so on our arrival day, we had a nice time taking in the view. Our room was also right next to nature which makes for a very nice sunset walk straight into nature and watch sunset atop a plateau without a single house within view.

WiFi doesn’t reach the rooms but it worked fine at reception and in the restaurant.

The resort has an excellent location for the Balcony Hike and sunset views. The wait staff in the restaurant was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and as advertised, and the food was good.

A good place to stay before doing the Balcony Walk
    • Leisure trip

    • Stayed 1 night

Overall we had a great stay but there was one thing that was very annoying. We came for the Balcony Walk and let the reception staff know we intended to set off early in the morning to reach it. But what they didn't tell us is that the resort gate is closed at night. When we got up at 6am to drive to the start of the walk the gates were still closed and we couldn't see a way to open them. We ended up walking from the resort which added 3km to our hike. This wasn't a problem at the start of the day but the hike back in the heat was very uncomfortable. We were told later that if we had beeped our car horn someone would have come to open the gate but this didn't occur to us so early in the morning. A sign at the gate would have helped.

I booked this hotel as a starting point for the Balcony Walk, which is a short drive away. I can recommend driving to the start rather than walking (see what we didn't like below). Our bungalow was lovely with a good mountain view and indoor and outdoor seating. Just outside the bungalow we could see the sun setting. The buffet served a good choice of western and local food, and the waiting staff were very helpful. When we mentioned we were doing the Balcony Walk in the morning they prepared a packed breakfast for us. Alstromeria Cafe does delicious coffees, frappes and cheese cakes for a post-hike sugar boost.

    Swimming pool was too cold.

Resort is composed of separate 'lodges' so you can drive right up to your door. It was very well laid out, paths well lit to get to central dining room. Food was superb, both for supper and breakfast. Good variety and very fresh. No internet in the room, but available in the dining room and reception area. Room was comfortable, bathroom well appointed.
