“We have been welcomed by the wonderful host Lucrecia (Richar’s wife) alongside with her daughter.
The rooms are really nice and clean and the view is just incredible.
For lunch dinner and breakfast Lucrecia cooks delicious and healthy meals that we loved.
Spending some time there has been truly relaxing and one to one with nature and local culture!
Thank you to the family, highly recommended for a unique experience.
Note on how to arrive:
Easily grab a local bus “collectivo” from Puno to Capachica and then take a local boat from Chifforn Port to Amantaní.
Then either you walk 1+ hours or take a ride with the motorbike that are available at the port waiting (very cool experience)”
“The accommodation is located in the community on the opposite side respect where the boat from Puno arrives. That's permitted to be the only tourist in this side of the island during our stay. You have to consider 20 soles per person to reach the accommodation from the pier with a motorbike. Otherwise you need at least 1 hour and 30 minute of walk.
The host family is amazing, Justa prepared delicious meals and joined us for a while for the walking up to pacha mama on the top of the island.
Amantanì is magic, it is a rural island surrounded by the lake. Stunning scenario where to relax and take great pictures.
The night sky from the house is unforgettable.”
“This the plase of rebirth, of shading the past and creating a new destiny. A loving couple will introduce you in the harmony of the Amantani culture. Amazing healthy food served with love by the lady of the house, good conversations and guidance from the man of the house, a cozy home to renew your batteries. You find here all the facilities you want: private bathroom, hot water, warm blankets, very clean and well maintained room. I highly recommend this place.”
“Lucrecia and her daughter welcomed us warmly, we became part of the family for 24h. If you go to Amantani you should definitely stay at Richar’s. The house is beautiful, very closed to Occosuyo port. The rooms are comfy, colorful and our’s had a super view over the lake. Amantani is an island out of time. Lucrecia cooked for us nicely and Isabel played with us cards during the evening. Wish we could have stayed more days!”
