Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaIt was our 3rd time staying here. We liked it and is good value for money which is why we kept coming back. Was weird when we checked in this time though. We reserved though booking.com using soles as the currency but when we checked in they converted the soles to usd, then converted usd back to soles using a different exchange rate so that they charged us more than the soles stated on our booking confirmation. Wasn't a huge difference (about $4) but did leave a bit of a bad taste like they were yrying to scam us

United StatesRoom was a little bit small, as well the bathroom, and there is no heating, so be careful if you’re staying during the cold months.
Hotel has a great location, 5 min walk from main square. Staff were friendly. We loved lobby and Christmas decorations. There are a several markets and laundry services nearby.

FranceThe breakfast is very basic with limited choice. The views of the rooms are not great. We stayed in 2 different rooms, one with a limited view on the city (although sold as with a panoramic view) and one facing a wall.
Great location in the heart of San Blas. Good size rooms with hot showers (but low pressure). Staff super nice and accommodating, they happily kept our belongings during our 4 day trek!

Czech RepublicAs some of the others have mentioned, there was some noise at night, but in comparison with other places in Peru, this was still the quietest place we stayed in. Also, the breakfast could be a little bigger.
The room was comfortable and, more importantly, clean. The wifi was the fastest I've experienced in Peru and the staff was very friendly and ready to help us with directions and store our luggage, while we were out of Cusco. Also, the place is located in the best part of the city with plenty of great restaurants around every corner.

United StatesI had trouble figuring out the shower temperature and water pressure but I didn’t ask for help either. Probably just user error.
When other properties ignored or told me they wouldn’t accommodate my vegan needs Andean South Inn came through with an AMAZING breakfast. Having just finished the Salkantay Trek the night before I was so appreciative of the help. They also held my bags while I went to Pisac before my bus left at 6 pm. Very accommodating and helpful hosts!!

DenmarkWhen we arrived at the time of check-in, 11:00 am, the room wasn’t ready and we were told that the room wouldn’t be ready before 12:30. They also claimed the time of check-in had been changed even though a poster on the wall said time of check-in was at 11:00. They gave us a dark room, no view at all and there wasn’t any hot water either. I had read they could provide an early breakfast when going to Machu Picchu, but this wasn’t the case. I had added breakfast to my booking because of this service. When they didn’t provide me the breakfast, I asked for a refund, which they denied me.
The location is very good and located in a lovely part of Cusco, San Blas. A few minutes to Plaza de Armas and cute cafes in San Blas. They stored our backpacks while we were at Machu Picchu.

IsraelMostly, the bathroom. The water current wasn’t steady, and one of the nights the cold water didn’t work, hence the shower was burning hot (usually an upside, however this time - it was just impossible to get under the stream). The toilet didn’t flush well. There’s only a cold water option in the sink. The room was freezing all day long. Also, the curtains don’t really block the sunlight from coming in.
Staff was nice, the room was very clean and had been cleaned every day of our stay.

United StatesThere is a 5% hidden fee. You have to pay for your towels. Breakfast is not included. Getting a good temperature for the shower was VERY hard, it fluctuates from scolding hot to freezing cold, without even moving the handles (I think this happened as other people were showering and changing the temp). The place is clean, but it doesn't seem to be maintained that much. The paint was flaking off the wall, and carpet was a thin piece of cloth stapled to the floor.
Great location, just a few steps away from the plaza de armas.
