Nothing! Leaving the place!

I am Filipina and I stayed with my British family (my husband and 2 children). Working in a hotel makes me appreciate, how much hard working the staff are in this hotel especially in the heat of the day! Everyone was welcoming and incredible. We are coming back again next year! Happy hour was amazing! The lovely lifeguard was amazing, he took my husband out on his day off to show him the snorkeling around the area! Kids saw turtles, nemo! Highly recommend. The bad reviews are for people who clearly are looking for something to complain :) this place is PARADISE!

The reception effectively spoils a good impression. Even before our arrival, we couldn't wait for a reply to messages on Whats App. After arrival, we waited a very long time to be assigned a room, even though there were more staff at the reception than waiting guests. It was a terrible mess there. At check out another disappointment. The reception told us to leave the room at least an hour to early. And instead of using the room and the beach, we stood in the sun and waited for the boat. If the reception is improved the hotel will be worth the price.

The resort is beautifully located. Villas / Bungalows by the beach are great but there was little space in the room. The reef around the island is worth seeing. The maids are very nice and do their job very well. A welcome foot massage is a great addition. The daily morning coffee served on the beach or on the terrace is something unique that makes the guest feel special. A big plus for the birthday cake and decorating the room for the birthday. Thank you very much.

The floor of our premium sunset unit was really creaky and should have been replaced long ago. It took a long time for hot water to arrive at the shower, but eventually worked out well.

The free breakfast was really good. Omelets were really good and quickly prepared. Choice of foods was good. Snorkeling just off the beach was superb.

Amazing island, kind staff, nice facilities. I booked a moonlight dinner at the beach to celebrate my birthday and it was a great experience. My cabin was decorated for the celebration and during my birthday dinner they brought a mini cake while singing “happy birthday”, it was very special. The beach around the resort is spectacular with incredible healthy ecosystem.

Worst breakfast in Philippines. No fruits , no juice, no cheese or ham. We found that some guests eat cheese and ham, but when we asked - staff said , that they don’t have. Ask for camomile tea - didn’t have. Strange. Coffee not drinkable. Our bathroom looked like from horror movie- huge blood spots on the mirror.

There wasn’t too many things for kids to do. But that’s fine as kids loved it anyway.

Our family had the best time at Club Paradise! Not only was the island perfect but the staff were amazing. There wasn’t too many kids or activities for kids to do, but the staff were awesome at entertaining my two boys. The island was pretty quiet and really relaxing. We booked the sunset villa and there was plenty of space for the four of us. Was really lovely to chill on our balcony and watch the sunset. The beach was a tad bit rocky, but that’s to be expected on remote islands.

The restaurant and food. Smell from our bathroom - in fairness the cleaning staff sorted it out for us when raised but it should have been dealt with without the need for us to raise it. Water pressure in the shower was awful.

Stunning location. We stayed in the Sunset Villa Deluxe which was really lovely and spacious with a separate dressing room and the largest bed I've ever seen! The views from our balcony were amazing. I think this is the best accommodation option on the island as it's super private and right on the beach with uninterrupted sea views. The beach was lovely and clean. The pool was also very nice as were the cabanas and seating options. Unfortunately the sea was too rough when we stayed even though the weather was beautifully hot and sunny so we didn't really get to enjoy snorkeling on the reef. However, we enjoyed swimming in the pool and just relaxing and soaking up the beautiful views. Unfortunately the restaurant, and there is only one, wasn't up to the standards you'd expect from such a special hotel. Breakfast was shockingly bad, lacking tropical fruits and fresh options that we had elsewhere in the Philippines. And the menu had over 180 items on it, most of which were cooked really badly. We've travelled a lot and enjoy dining out and sadly this hotel just didn't offer that experience. On our last night my husband's main dish came 20 mins before mine...when I complained to the Manager he said 'Oh well, hope you liked it' - I felt he was only interested in the opinion of local tourists who he spent most of his time talking to. We saw and spoke to other guests who were struggling with the food too, and to be honest it ruined our overall experience. The staff in the restaurant also seemed really unhappy and this was reflected in the service. It's a shame as staff in other areas were really lovely. The Manager needs to completely rethink the menu offering - beach BBQs / fresh fish, etc. and ditch the awful bland options. The bar was lovely with a great setting on the beach but if you're a foodie I'd think twice about staying at this hotel. Such a shame as it would be perfect if they could just sort out the...

Unique and luxury experience. Lovely island, amazing coral reefs just 10 meters from the beach. The bed was the biggest I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Breakfasts are great. The restaurant is also mainly great, though some positions like pizza are much worse in quality and taste than other dishes. Lots of things to do on an island and also several tours available. Would definitely come back again and already recommended to many of our friends.

Body board / surf at your own risk. Sign a waver saying your aware of the dangers, also fishing would be nice further out away from the islands reef

Leaving!

The clue is in the name...it is absolutely a paradise. A first night in an excellent garden suite room overlooking trees followed by 4 in a Sunset Villa on the beach. 20m from the house reef with fish, turtles and corals galore. Lots of wonderful birds and the dusk spectacle of the giant fruit bats heading out en masse to feed for the night and the aforementioned monitor lizards were all highlights. For snorkelling and wildlife enthusiasts it was truly exceptional. So difficult to find such a accessible and rewarding house reef these days and as such it was such a bonus to have such a great resort coupled with this marine habitat. We were even lucky enough to witness a hawksbill turtle laying eggs on the beach one evening which were promptly protected with a box cage by the guards from the resident water monitors reflecting their nature conservation awareness. One could argue that the wildlfe had the island to themselves before CPP arrived, but it would seem that a compromise has been largely achieved. The Fire Fish restaurant, pool and bars were all superb, but the main selling point was the staff. It would be hard to find a more cohesive, welcoming and willing to serve team. No doubt in part a credit to Joerg the engaging Manager. Some lessons could be learned here by other resorts. We will be coming back.
